Family Tree Baby Shower
Here’s another baby shower idea that I recently worked on for Parents.com… This theme plays on the idea of Mom-to-be’s expanding family tree and is full of bright colors, mod tree patterns & accents, and lots of pictures to celebrate past, present, and – of course! – future generations.
While working on this “Family Tree” shower, I felt like it was both an obvious and unusual theme idea at the same time…what do you think? Have you ever been to a shower that used this theme? {full theme details over at parents.com}

I have! I created a family tree baby shower with the tag line: Look Who’s Growing Their Family Tree.
You’re right, it was such an easy theme and so obvious, but everyone’s response to it is that it is so clever and unusual. It’s my very favorite baby shower theme because it can be both modern and fun.
Hi, I think this is a great idea. I used this idea for a theme on my website, and I’ve gotten some good feedback on it. I centered my ideas around a mint green, gold and brown color scheme, which works well for boys and girls.
I like the “family tree” theme, because it recognized everyone in the new baby’s family, not just the new mom.
What a great idea! You’re right: it’s obvious, but in a “why didn’t I think of this before?!” way — it’s certainly not typical or overdone. It’s also broad enough that you can vary the individual elements, or even see it executed in different styles from one shower to another. Finally, I’ll echo West: I think what appeals the most to me is that it’s not completely baby/mommy-centric, rather it focuses on the entire family. Beautiful.
So thanks! I’ll definitely keep this one in the arsenal!
P.S. – That orange pound cake makes me swoon.
What a great idea! For a baby shower, it’s so important to tie in the idea that the family tree is extending its roots with the arrival of a new baby. Plus it’s a great way to include family members who are at the shower, especially those that live far away.
