PARTY DETAILS as told by Stacy…
Olivia’s 4th Birthday took place at a ranch in Jacksonville, FL. We especially loved having the horses right beside our party area while we celebrated! I spent months designing the paper goods for her party and coming up with the overall design. I decided that mint, pink and gold would be the main colors, for a vintage-style farmgirl birthday party.
Location
We chose this ranch because of it’s natural beauty. We were able to setup the party right by the Paddocks, which made us feel like we were definitely connected with the horses during the party. The beautiful front entrance with brick pavers and horse gates had me sold.
Cake Table
Her cake table was simple with a pink cake and gold horse cake topper. The wooden horse backdrop was also handmade and painted, it was an affordable yet visually appealing addition to the dessert table. We used wooden crates for the cake pop display and paper cones to hold the cotton candy. Rice Krispy treats were served on a cake stand titled “Haystacks.” On the front of the table was a tassel garland in pink, mint and gold.
Styling Details
We included lots of gold accents, from gold painted mason jars to golden containers for the flowers. On the big seating area, we used 3 flower arrangements in a gold container. We used rope around them to add detail.
For the children’s dessert table we used vintage style glass milk bottles served alongside custom pony sugar cookies & milk. Beverages were served in dispensers with sweet tea and and a virgin mint julep drink was the specialty drink for her birthday.
Favors
Each child had a pink or brown cowboy hat to wear and take home after the party. They also received a mint green wooden box with their names embossed in gold lettering, which contained candy and a soft plush horse.
Entertainment
We had horseback riding lessons, played horseshoe, horse painting (yes, we painted a real horse!) and the children especially loved playing dress-up with the mini ponies in which they were able to braid and style their hair. The birthday girl, Olivia, loved riding her horse! All of the kids did great and found a new love, horses!
