golf themed birthday party

Courtney of Pizzazzerie truly hit a hole in one with this impressive and way-too-cute GOLF Themed Birthday Party! Everything about this celebration is so well thought out and just bursting with creativity

One of my favorite elements has got to be the blue lunch baskets with golf ball “feet” – so cute! Did you notice that the sandwiches were held together with a golf tee?! And then of course there are the wonderfully detailed golf club and putting green sugar cookies, fantastic cupcakes topped with mini fondant golf clubs and golf balls, (why am I a sucker for anything mini?!), and the wayward rye grass, which was grown just one week before the party was the perfect addition. I’m also loving how Courtney created an incredible cake centerpiece by embellishing a simple store bought cake with fondant toppers.

PARTY DETAILS, as told by Courtney

“Little Isaac (also my future ring bearer!) is discovering his love for golf and since my fiance is in the golf business, I decided it was only natural to style up a golf themed birthday for Isaac’s 2nd!

We used green and blue burlap as the base for our main table and filled it with treats galore! There were custom sugar cookies designed by Jimemmajack Cookies in the shape of golf bags, golf balls, and greens. Two Sugar Babies designed fondant cupcake toppers, golf flags, and golf balls that were perfect for decorating green “grass” cupcakes and a store-bought two-tier vanilla cake. Adding fondant decorations really jazzes up a basic white cake!

Simple blue baskets were jazzed up with golf ball bases and filled with a yummy lunch! Simple cheese sandwiches were cut with round biscuit cutters for a golf ball shape! A mini golf club set, golf tie, and golf hat were used as props for decoration! The kids LOVED playing with the mini golf club set. This was a lucky find at Tuesday Morning!

Rye grass was grown a week before the party as decoration and set on top of glass cake stands as a base for cupcakes and the birthday cake! This is a super easy “wow-factor” for all types of parties outside (think Easter too!). We simply grew the grass in plastic containers from the hardware store.

Overall, we had a fabulous time! The weather was perfect + the kids loved playing golf and eating golf treats to celebrate Isaac’s 2nd birthday!”

I love using grass in parties for outdoor sports. I’ve never done golf but it worked great for football! See mine here: https://diyingtobedomestic.wordpress.com/2011/02/02/super-bowl-party/
