Modern Farm 1st Birthday Party – Part 2
In continuation of yesterday’s Farm 1st Birthday Party – Part 1 for Fisher-Price, here we go with Part 2: The Farm-Inspired Dessert Table!
When designing this table, I started with a concept for the backdrop. We made a barn silhouette shape out of foam core & felt (see the tutorial here), then added a pair of DIY Painted Barn Doors to the front. Felt/burlap garlands on either side of the barn added a celebratory feel, and artificial grass was used in lieu of a linen.
THE TREATS!!
We made a few of the farm-themed treats at home (in other words, the easier ones!), which included the pig pie pops, hay bale cakes, chocolate-covered strawberry “carrots”, and “animal feed” trail mix.
For the more difficult treats, I turned to a couple of incredibly talented local vendors. The insanely cute cake pops were crafted by The Mad Cake Pop Shop, and the tier cake, which had such a fabulous, modern-meets-adorable vibe, is the work of Stevi from Hey there, Cupcake!. I love how she wrapped both tiers in patterns from the farm party paper collection too. :)
I really loved how these homemade pig pie pops turned out! Aren’t they fun? ;) We followed the general idea from this post, but modified the design slightly to make it easier. My friend Jacque also tied teensy little bandanas onto the sticks for the finishing touch!
I was totally smitten with these chicken cake pops! We displayed them in wood berry baskets filled with floral foam, and used toasted coconut “hay” to cover the foam.
Above: I tried to make it look like the Hay Stack Snack Cakes (recipe here) were being “sold” by one of the toy farmers. :) You can download the “Hay Bales for Sale” printable mini banner here.
The big flowers directly below the dessert table were inspired by the flower-topped windmill in the Little People® Farm & Garden Stand.
Trail mix of any kind can be dubbed “Animal Feed” and served in cute mini pails. (I bought the 2.5″ tall pail size, which is available in packs of 12.)
Chocolate Covered Strawberry “Carrots” are another easy homemade treat, and they look extra cute on a bed of crushed cookie “dirt”.
Hope you found some good inspiration for your own Farm Birthday Party here! For LOTS more ideas, check out Part 1 of this party, featuring the kids’ table, drink station, smash cake, and accent decor!

I love this party! I'm planning on trying it for my sons first birthday. But I noticed that Hostess Ink is not in business anymore. Is there some other way to get the printables?
Hi, I'm doing the same for my son's Birthday and found this link with all the printables.
