PARTY DETAILS, as told by Margit…

My daughter is such a little ball of energy and her siblings and decided that we needed a party theme to reflect her spunky personality. She truly is a Little Firecracker so it was the perfect theme. For the colors we used red white and blue with a bit of purple throughout.

The dessert table featured many treats including cookies, a firecracker shaped cake by Cake Wish (which we used sparkler candles on so when they were lit it looked like the real thing!), number “3” lollipops by Candied Cakes and various candies as well as other treats.

I made firecracker shaped hats out of toilet paper rolls. I just wrapped them in purple paper and attached a pipe cleaner at the top. Add some curling ribbon at the bottom and we had fun party hats! Two small holes on wither side allowed me to string elastic cording through so that they would stay on the kiddos heads.

If you can believe it, I actually had all the ribbon used to make the wreath. It was the perfect way to use up some scraps and I will have it hanging on my front door all summer!

The banner on the front of the table was made using felt letters attached to placemats purchased at the dollar store.

Avery loves bubbles so we had lots of them at the party and called it “popping practice.” We also had a rocket launcher “launching practice.” As we had children of different ages at this party we hired a balloon twister “Mr. Twister” who was able to entertain them all but not require that they all sit down and watch (which would have been a futile effort with three year olds).

I love a three-year-old birthday, as it is the first year they really understand that the party is for them. Avery certainly did and is still talking about her “firecracker party.” I know we will remember this party as the one that captured her spirit perfectly.
