{FLASHBACK!} High School Inspired Party

Quick Jump To » Vendor Credits | Comments

When Apartment Guide designed a challenge to “create an entertainment area or tablescape and throw a party in that space, within the next 10 days,” Caley of How Does She set out to time travel back to the days of HIGH SCHOOL! With cafeteria trays as her inspiration, Caley created a FLASHBACK menu full of tater tots, square pizza (remember those days?), milk cartons, pudding, and lots of other cafeteria eats! High school photos of the guests were combined to create a photo garland hung around the room. My favorite part? Guests arrived dressed up as their favorite High School Stereotype!

The Challenge & Inspiration

“Apartment Guide challenged us to ‘create an entertainment area or tablescape and throw a party in that space, within the next 10 days’.  Talk about a time crunch!  The main inspiration was cafeteria trays. This opened the food options to anything found in a school cafeteria including, chips, chocolate milk, jello, tater tots, etc!

Decorations

Each guest provided several photos from their high school days and came dressed as a high school stereotype. My absolute favorite part about this gathering was the participation. Each guest provided several High School pictures (some willingly, some not so willingly) to help set the mood. Their CLASSIC photos were used as party photo garland. Yearbook/party photos were a must at the end of the party!”

What a fun idea! Does anyone really play the baritone in that picture?? (That’s what I play!) I was obviously the band geek in high school….and college….and I may still get a little excited whenever I see a marching band!

This is so much fun! I wasn’t really a fan of high school when I was there, but now I can look back and laugh. And, oooooh, those tater tots are making me hungry!

This brings back memories. There are some really cute ideas here. The yearbook photos, then vs. present day photos could be very funny. http://www.skylarkmanor.com
