Flirty “Love, Sweet Love” Bridal Shower
In keeping with the Valentine’s Day theme going on this week, I thought it would be fun to feature some ideas for a flirty red & white lingerie bridal shower (or bachelorette party!).
The image above is a “Love, Sweet Love” theme idea from Simple Stunning Wedding Showers by Karen Bussen and serves as great overall inspiration for a contemporary lingerie theme… a buffet of decadent chocolate desserts, red & white table accessories, sexy bedroom slippers, and red martinis… looks like fun, right?!
Here are a few more ideas to help play up this theme:
Let’s do dessert!
Pictured above, clockwise from top left:
- Mini Raspberry & White Chocolate Whoopie Pies,
- Chocolate Raspberry Fondue,
- Cherry Pistachio Creams,
- Cherry Walnut Balls.
SIGNATURE DRINK IDEAS:
{clockwise from top left}
- Valentine’s Day Chocolate Martini,
- Classic Cosmopolitan,
- Sparkling Pomegranate Champagne Cocktail & Mocktail,
- Chocolate Martini rimmed with a cocoa-and-sugar mixture & garnished with a heart-shaped strawberry!
Party Favors:
This Corset Cookie Cutter enables you to whip up some seriously adorable cookies for the dessert buffet or to use as take-home favors for guests!
Don’t feel like baking? Purchase made-to-order lingerie cookies instead… like these Bustier or Lingerie cookies from Carrie’s Cookies and Confections, heart-shaped Lingerie Cookie Favors by Etsy shop Devilishly Devine, or “Oooh La La Lingerie Cookies” from Clearly Cookies.
More party ideas for this theme:
- have feather boas available for guests – and/or the guest of honor – to wear during the party (great for photo opps!)
- purchase inexpensive purses, garters, camisoles/lingerie, and bedroom slipper-style shoes to use as centerpieces and party decor, then embellish the items with feathers, marabou craft boa, rhinestones, lace, and anything else you can think of to “girl them up” for the theme (Side note: Any camisoles or lingerie that you hang as decor can also double as a gift for the bride-to-be!)
- use red and white marabou feather boa to dress up cocktail stemware & wine glasses (see an example here)
- embellish dessert serving trays with a layer of shredded coconut (for a soft, “feathery” look that plays on the feather boa vibe)
- use red & white vases and pillar candle holders as “pedestals” for serving dishes on food & dessert buffets
- use lace to embellish flower arrangements, vases, & candles (see examples here)
- order a red beaded curtain or white capiz shell curtain – These are great for dressing up doorways, creating an impressive entry point for guests, or as a pretty backdrop for the bar or dessert display.
- create themed frames using things like red & white lace, marabou craft boa, and/or rhinestones
A few more themed product suggestions:
- Sexy Vase Corset and Square Red Acrylic Votives from Social Couture
- XOXO Party Favor/Drink Tags from Etsy shop JonNI
- White Filigree Cupcake Wrapper/Liner from Estilo Weddings
