Black and White Engagement Party

This gorgeous Black & White Engagement Party by Carolyn of The Special Day just exudes modern elegance & class…not to mention a really scrumptious looking menu!

Lush arrangements of white peonies, Phalaenopsis orchids, and garden roses complimented the unique wall decor of the party’s venue perfectly and took on a dramatic, “all dressed up” vibe when embellished with wide bands of black ribbon & black suede flowers. And then of course there’s the FOOD, which featured an equally polished presentation and almost looks too pretty to eat…. almost. =)

PARTY DETAILS, as told by Carolyn

A couple’s celebration should be a true reflection of them, and nothing defines Emily & John more than food. Having traveled to some of the best destinations in the world, they were sample some of the best chefs’s menus.

For their engagement party, they chose 2-Michelin Star Providence Restaurant to host 50 of their closest friends and family to a 6-course chef’s tasting menu with wine pairing, by James Beard Nominated, Executive Chef Michael Cimarusti.

Providence Restaurant’s decor is clean & modern, with subtle oceanic elements inspired by coastal living, and so we paid homage to this for the table designs as well. Using the clean, crisp white linens of the restaurant, tablescapes were created full of white floral arrangements with peonies, Phalaenopsis orchids, and garden roses. The floral arrangements were wrapped in a white suede fabric and embellished with a fabric flower.

Coral pieces were added as accents to tie in the oceanic heritage of the restaurant. The candles galore created the most intimate & warm setting for the guests. Mille Fiori is genius when it comes to creating the most amazing candle presentations! The floral design, the location, and the menu, were a pre-cursor to Emily & John’s destination wedding in Kauai 4 months later.”
