PARTY DETAILS, as told by Dina

Inspired by the love of sweets, this Cupcake party is sure to have your little monsters excited. Welcome to the Little Monsters Cupcakery, where Dr. Frankenstein, Mummy & Spider cupcakes give a sweet twist on a kid friendly Halloween party.

TABLESCAPE & DECOR

My number one inspiration for this Halloween party was the adorable printable “Little Monster’s Cupcakery” collection by Bird’s Party! I love using printables to pull together a cohesive design style. These adorable cupcakes were so sweet, I tried to use them in every area of design – from the cute homemade wreath to the sweet little chair decor.

Each place setting had a black little bucket with cutlery, straw & a drink. I found the buckets at Target, in the one dollar bins and jazzed them up with a cupcake sticker. The black and white plates from Shop Sweet Lulu‘s fit in perfectly. The chiavari chairs with a sash & chair decor added a little sophisticated edge to a kid party.

My absolute favorite thing? My homemade french macarons in Rosanna Compotes (courtesy of Waiting on Martha) were an absolute hit with the kids. Big huge thank you to Waiting for Martha for compotes & pedestals!

DESSERT TABLE

Orange, green & purple goodness! In the center of the dessert table is a beautiful green ombre cake by My Sweet Things! Not only does it look amazing, it is simply delicious! Flanked by adorable swirl cupcakes with the coolest fondant toppers by Edible Details. Too cool to eat! The sugar cookies by Yummy Delicious Cookies just overwhelmed me with cuteness. The spooky chocolate covered oreos by Sweet Temptations just amazed me! The parents couldn’t keep their hands off of them. The table also included: cute monster cake pops, pudding parfaits, pumpkin pie-in-a-jar, salted caramel apples, monster marscarpone mousse cups, and biscoff-cookie push-up pops.

The Little Monster Cupcakery poster hanging above the dessert table made the perfect backdrop. Posters are an affordable way to give your wall a little pizzazz. I always get mine printed at my local Costco. The Halloween colored tassel garland from The Flair Exchange made the perfect banner and helped tie all of the colors together on the table. I can’t wait to use them every Halloween.

CANDY DISPLAY

What is a Halloween Party without candy!? Amazing custom (marshmallow flavored) lollipops by Vintage Confections really helped bring the Monster cupcake designs to life! Now your lollipops can really match your printables. The Sweet Skewers by Sweets Indeed were so beautiful. Sour belts and gummies delightfully displayed on a stick. When Bird’s Party sent over the printables, I was so excited to see the little monster favor boxes! The kids really enjoyed filling them with sixlets & gumballs.

ACTIVITY

Our little monsters enjoyed playing Cupcake Shop. Each Monster Bakery was designed to match their Monster. Created from a cardboard template purchased at Target, these cute storefronts can be recreated out of cardboard, old boxes or wood. With a few coats of spray paint and some printables they looked so adorable!

The kids were so excited to put on their Monster Aprons and play! The Monster apron is the perfect party prop and favor for your guests. I found really cute aprons that just so happen to be our halloween colors. Print the Monsters on iron on paper and iron on to the apron. Each child also received a hand full of Monster Money and had fun buying cupcakes (and of course eating them too).

Thank you to the incredibly talented Lauren from Lauren Nicole Studios for the amazing pictures and thank you Bird’s Party for the cutest Halloween Printables ever!
