PARTY DETAILS, as told by Alison…

I knew I wanted to throw my daughter a farm themed birthday party, but my girl is a GIRLY girl, so I needed this party to be full of pink femininity.

The party was held at a local park where we were able to grill lunch for our 50 guests and have plenty of room for the kids to run around.  Some of the food included kid snack cups (perfect for the little ones!) of diced fruit and goldfish, a pig cake, and pink lemonade cupcakes.  For drinks, the kids had pink lemonade in little plastic mason jars (wasn’t about to risk broken glass with all the kids) and sangria for the adults.

For games, I made a barn puppet theater out of card board boxes and duct tape.  The kids made farm animal paper bag puppets and then showed them off in the barn.  We also had kick croquet (with pool noodles), a baby pool fishing game and balloon ring toss.

I decorated with light pink, bright pink, brown and orange.  I made pennant banners using triangles of calico fabric (just cut out the triangles and stapled them to bias tape and hung up- so easy and reusable!).  I also used my daughter’s first pair of cowboy boots as table centerpieces.

Her farm party was casual, kid and adult friendly and most importantly, girly!
