PARTY DETAILS, as told by Rebecca…

“I threw my hubs a 30th Birthday Golf theme party, outside under tents with twinkle lights. It was gorgeous and so much fun!

Activities included a golf-attire costume contest, chipping contest in the back field for those that actually golf, “guess how many golf balls are in the bucket” and 80’s karaoke.

Decorations included handmade banners, a water hazard, sand trap, putting green, pics of my husband now and as a baby/child, green felt table cloths, tealights in white paper sacks at the entrance, cylindrical vases with tees and golf balls, custom golf tees that said, “Nick is thir-tee” (made that up all on my own!!!), and golf balls with my husband’s face on them.

I also served appetizers, Arnold Palmers (along with water, sweet tea and lemonade) and sweets, including sugar cookies with the same image of my husband as the golf balls. The favors were golf-ball cake pops with one of the custom golf tees tied to it with red ribbon. I pretty much did everything DIY.”

Love this party! These are great pictures, and I’m loving the games played. I recently threw a golf themed party for my husband too. I had several of the same names, but came up with a few more golf themed puns for food too! Check it out at http://copy-cat-crafter.blogspot.com/2011/05/surprise-party.html

Thank you SO much for these ideas! I am in the process of planning a surprise 40th birthday party for my husband, and this helps out immensely. His cake is going to say “Earl is turning Fore-Tee” … I am excited about the whole thing!

Very CLEVER ideas! I love it! Thanks for sharing your creativity and skills.

  10. Wow this is soooo awesome. You better invite girls to the party though. As much as guys would appreciate the effort, I don’t know if they’d really appreciate the creativity as much as the ladies.- Sarah http://agirlintransit.blogspot.com/

This is adorable! I love the face on the golf ball. How did you get his picture to look like that – like a sketch almost? I’ve been looking in Photoshop but I can’t seem to find a setting to do that. If you had someone do it for you, can you share their information?

I threw a golf-themed party for my hubs-to-be, too! Our party had small golf-y touches – it definitely wasn’t as detailed as yours! You did an amazing job, Rebecca! Here’s our party: http://the-wander-woman.com/a-birthday-bash-for-him/
