hansel and gretal birthday cake

Getting lured in by the sight of an all-candy house is an understandably easy thing to do, so I totally get how Hansel & Gretel were tricked by the wicked witch. Luckily, this Hansel & Gretel Candy Themed Twin’s Birthday Party has no wicked witch to worry about, so guests were able to enjoy all of the amazing sweets styled by Laila Plant of One Inspired Party! The cake alone is enough to marvel at, but Laila continued to wow us with the colorful tablescapes, gingerbread house dessert table & lovely woodland details.

PARTY HIGHLIGHTS to look out for:

  • Life-sized lollipops, rainbow candy straws, amazingly detailed cookies & sprinkled ‘1’ topped smash cakes
  • Gingerbread house backdrop complete with sprinkled door, colorful shingles & sweets filled window ledges
  • Paper lantern garlands wrapped in cellophane to look like candies + candy decorated tree stump centerpieces
  • Amazing gingerbread house birthday cake with fondant Hansel & Gretel + a sweets filled garden

PARTY DETAILS as told by Laila

I was so excited to help plan twins Vicente & Stella’s first birthday. Their parents were set on Hansel & Gretel for the theme and I jumped on board with the idea. Since they story is so dark we decided to go with a more playful and candy centered party but keeping the element of the woods in it. I enlisted Johanna & Frank from Bambini Soiree to custom build a gingerbread house backdrop for the candy table and rustic table to place a really overwhelming amount of sweets on. Danielle from Atlas Party Rental helped us with the rentals and Rick from Avant Gardens did our rustic florals. We love the way this party turned out and hope you do too!
