PARTY DETAILS, as told by Erika

Boo! I love Halloween so much, I can’t even take it. I also can’t even take this fun Halloween table we have been busy working on! This was SO much fun to put together and I had to work hard to keep my daughter and friends from sneaking some of the sweets before I had a chance to photograph it.

This Haunted Mansion Graveyard Halloween party table is a little scary at first but then you see cute little mummy googly eyes, adorable bats and cutie little ghosts looking at you and how could the little ones be scared?  We also are offering the printables that are on this table free to download below. They include cupcake wrappers, cupcake toppers, water bottle labels, food labels, straw flags and more.

I wanted to keep the color scheme monochromatic with a pop of orange here and there to make this table really stand out.

SAVORY EATS

The centerpiece of this cute table are these adorable Jack O’Lanterns filled with a yummy Butternut Squash, Bacon and Pine Nut Risotto with Brown Sage Butter…we hollow out mini pumpkins and decorate them then roast them for a bit before filling with the delicious risotto. Other savory snacks on the tableinclude: Mummy Chicken Tenders, Cobweb Nacho Bites and Garlic and Herb Cheese Ball Bats.

We made Cobweb Nacho Bites with flour tortillas we cut out with a cookie cutter then brushed them with vegetable oil and baked them in muffin tins until they were crispy and golden. Then we filled them with cheese, beans, lettuce, pico de gallo and finally guacamole on top that we smoothed out flat. We then piped in sour cream into a cobweb decoration using a piping bag and tip (very easy!).

We used Crescent Roll dough and wrapped it around grilled chicken tenders for theses cute mummies. This is definitely a healthier version of the hotdog mummies you see around. We covered the serving dishes with grey/black dyed cheesecloth. We also covered the front of the table and wall behind with Creepy Cloth from Amazon. You can also find this at Michael’s.

The Garlic and Herb Cheese Ball Bats are rolled in poppyseed and have olives for eyes. We put pimentos inside the olives for the red part of their eyes. We stuck blue corn chips in the sides for their wings. The inside mixture is a combination of Boursin Garlic and Herbs, shredded cheese and cream cheese.

DESSERTS

Our desserts section is a lot of fun, it includes Candy Corn Crème Brûlée, Ghost Meringues, Cake Ball Eyeballs, Mummy Push Pops and Haunted Mansion Graveyard Cupcakes.

These Eye Ball Cake Balls are simply white cake pop balls  with red piped-on icing around the sides and a red cut-out fondant circle followed by a smaller black fondant circle cut out. I put them into cute appetizer spoons.

My Candy Corn Crème Brûlées in mini mason jars are so cute and so festive. We wrapped them in ribbon and put on a printable from our free set around the ribbon. We backed the printable with a scallop-stamped  orange paper followed by a black round.

The Ghost Meringues are a classic baked meringue we piped in ghost shapes before baking. We used black frosting we piped in for the eyes after they cooled.

Our Haunted Mansion Graveyard cupcakes are wrapped with our cupcake wrappers and sprinked with black edible glitter from the baking supply or Amazon. We used a mini ghost meringue for the one and a mini skull from the baking supple for the other cupcake.

We took push pop containers and wrapped them with tea-stained gauze we found on Amazon and googly eyes found at Michael’s. We put the finished push pops in a a block of floral foam covered in moss (both found at Michael’s as well).

DRINKS & DECOR

This cute little mummy milk bottle was very simple. We took the same tea-stained gauze and googly eyes we used on the cake pops and wrapped them around milk bottles I found on Etsy a long time ago. I use them for all kinds of things. We found orange and black striped straws at Michael’s then used out printable Halloween flags on them.

We made the graveyard fence out of white picket fencing from Hobby Lobby. We hot-glued it together using popsicle sticks (from Hobby Lobby) on the back/ We then used cobwebs and spiders from Michael’s to make it look spooky. For the candelabras, we used black glitter ones I got awhile back and some ivory tapers that we dripped with hot wax from another candle to give them that old drippy look. I decorated the table with some old Halloween decorations I already had like this skeleton. We surrounded him with moss to make it look more spooky…
