Creative Blackhawks Inspired Hockey Birthday Party

She shoots, she SCORES! Beth Kruse of Beth Kruse Custom Creations earned a hat trick when creating this creative Blackhawks Inspired Hockey Birthday Party for her son — with super cute decor, clever snacks and tons of fun activities! I especially love Beth’s thought-process: “I tried really hard to not only make it “pretty,” but unique, creative, fun and doable for average moms.” That’s a win in my book! Plus, today is the first day of this year’s Stanley Cup Final and the Hawks are in it, so there’s no better time snag some of these awesome ideas! (P.S. Check out full details on all of the fun games at Beth’s blog… link below).

PARTY DETAILS, as told by Beth…
My son is a HUGE hockey fan. All he does all winter is play hockey…with 2 goals he sets up in my family room. Here in Chicago we are so lucky to have a great hockey team, the Chicago Blackhawks. For his birthday I wanted to create a party for my hockey fan using touches of the Blackhawks team that he adores.
Using the team colors of black, red and white I designed all the party printables. These printables can be modified to any team colors, making it a perfect party for ANY hockey fan. I also designed some items to really bring out the Blackhawks’ spirit including his age with tomahawks, feathers, and the names of his favorite players.
The party theme was presented to the guests with a hockey puck invite — using a really hockey puck.
For food, I wanted grab and go items and decided on setting up a concession stand. My girls were thrilled to run that which worked out perfectly. We had a hot dog roller, popcorn machine and also offered soft pretzels, suckers, twizzlers, chips, gatorade and applesauce cups.
The cake is frosted black to look like a hockey puck and I decorated it with the age logo I designed.
We decorated with all his Blackhawks’ paraphernalia and signs I had designed to coordinate.
I came up with some really fun hockey games (all the details of those are on my blog) to keep the kids busy and they had a blast!
