owl themed baby shower

Have a baby shower in the works? If you’re looking for a fun concept, here’s an owl-themed baby shower that I created for this month’s issue (April 2009) of Pregnancy magazine, featuring super-cute plush owls, colorful feathers, woodsy elements, and more!

P.S. This could also be a fun theme for a kids birthday party… just change the title to something like “Look Hoo’s Turning ONE!”

What an absolutely unique idea! I love the totally natural feel of the shower…here’s hoping I have the opportunity to use this idea soon. ☺

    Hi there-

Love this idea! I’m an owl addict and am going to have to share this with my friends (maybe they’ll take the hint that I’d love this theme for my baby shower……………..for the baby that’s not on the way yet). Never hurts to plan.

Check out the “owl crazy” category on my blog – lots of great owl stuff that goes right along w/ this theme. Here are some cute owl onesies that I’ve stocked up on to give as baby gifts: https://www.etsy.com/listing/22968002/baby-onesie-with-gray-owl-applique-size

    Love your blog!

Love, love, love this theme! I am going to suggest this theme to my mom and sis for our upcoming baby arrival. What would be a theme appropriate favor?

I just found these cute “owl always love you” soaps that are meant to be for wedding favors but think they go along with the baby shower idea. I think I might use them as a favor for the owl themed baby shower I am going to throw for a friend in a few weeks! http://demo.theaspenshops.com

    Ann –
Those owl soaps are ADORABLE! Thanks for sharing!!

    Zudannie –
Here’s another cute owl soap favor idea from plum party:

or these chocolate owl lollipops would be cute wrapped in cellophane and tied with a colorful ribbon

and these mini owl notepads/post it holders would also be cute (they’re featured as the favor idea in the article too) https://www.etsy.com/listing/19720505/owl-post-it-note-holder-planner-makes?ref=sr_gallery_5

    Good luck! :)

Hi I just read this looking for ideas for an owl themed nursery. I loved your ideas for the owl themed shower… so cute!! Just wanted to let you know there is a cute owl set of onsies, towels burpcloths, etc @ http://www.shopbegora.com They are hand made by two women I just met this weekend @ a craft show. Their stuff is so nice. You should check it out

Love this! I did a baby announcement with an owl and said “Whoooo’s here?” You can see it on my website at:
I’ve been doing invitations for a few years now and I’m finally launching my portfolio site. Hopefully it inspires people as much as HWTM! I don’t know what I would have done if I hadn’t discovered HWTM. To quote from Wedding Date, “I think I’d miss you even if we’d never met.”

Thanks so much for the sweet message, Amy! You’ve made my day :)

LOVE your owl announcement design, btw!

Wow! Did I really just get a reply back from Jenn herself? and a LOVE shout out!?!? Now you just made my day.

I think I just found the theme for my girls birthday party this year! My oldest will turn two and 5 days later my youngest will turn 1. :)

I just finished my two month old daughters room in owls as well. I found really cute owl (with glow in the dark eyes) material at Fabricland. I also took a leaf candle holder and instead of putting tea lights in the holders on the branches, I made little nests with owls. It is really cute. Christmas time is a good time to look for little owls. They are really “in” this year and I am finding many different kinds of owls for her room.

I found a really cute owl “piggy bank” at Target this past Christmas. It’s quite nice and is a dark pink colour. It was only $12 which I thought was a steal. I also found at Meijer, I believe, a purple owl hooded towel. Owls are everywhere. I wanted to mention too that I recently saw an plush owl with ribbons hanging down as its legs where hairclips can be placed. Nothing cuter than that!

Hey everyone! Love your ideas!! I’m planning an owl-themed bday for my almost-1 year old and this has been very helpful! His nursery was also done in “owls.” Here’s a link to the pics of his nursery.

Currently, Target has cute little stuffed owls and have found some easter owls (who knew?) at WalMart. Planning a WHOOO doesn’t love a baby theme party for my good friend. It has been a challenge to find the owl stuff but have found great ideas like this one: http://sbees.blogspot.com/2009/03/owly-baby-shower.html

I was wanting to know if anyone has had any luck finding owl paper plates and napkins
