Inspiration Board: Lovely Lilac & Gray
Hi! I’m Rebecca Goering, author of Tastefully Entertaining, a blog providing ideas and inspiration for planning memorable events. I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to guest post for HWTM today!
I’ve been extremely intrigued by the color gray lately. It’s sophisticated, chic and compliments so many other colors – orange, green, white, blue, pink and lilac (just to name a few). Today I’ve chosen a palette of gray and lilac for an elegant evening bridal shower. Though bridal showers often occur in the afternoon why not host an nighttime gathering and take advantage of the glimmer of candlelight and the energy of evening.
Pictured above:
- Lovely table setting and room décor featuring gray linens, a chocolate table runner, square white plates, white candles and a lilac floral centerpiece
- This gray Adrianna Papell dress is perfect for the bride-to-be
- Mini cupcakes covered with white icing and flavored sugars for a unique sweet ending
- Lilac celery glasses are great for floral arrangements, candies or serving desserts

Dauphine Press has an incredible wedding invitation selection, and their paper and design quality are outstanding. They are one of the first books I show to brides who are looking for letterpress wedding invitations. http://www.leapfrogpaper.com
Both the table centerpiece and those mini cupcakes look absolutely DIVINE! Great post!
Must. Have. Shoes.
Where can I get them?!
Your link to the purple shoes doesn’t work. The link to the dress only went to the store’s main page, not the dress.
Thanks for the heads up, Barbara – I just modified the text for the shoes to reflect the info on theknot.com’s detail page… turns out you can’t actually see the page unless you’re logged into their site!
Liz – looks like the bride took a pair of satin heels and added the purple stone & pearl brooches herself!
That combination is fabulous! And I’m with Liz — those shoes are simply to die for lovely!
Just gorgeous!!
This color combo is so pretty! I’ve actually seen a lot of purple out for holiday this year – maybe I’ll do something like this for our New Year’s party since I don’t have any wedding parties coming up!
This board is great! Love the color combination – of course Rebecca always has some of the most lovely entertaining inspiration!
I adore this color palette! That cupcake looks so delicious!
i was so excited to see this palette, it’s actually the one i chose for my home office. i know it has nothing to do with a shower, but the elegance and serenity is exactly what i’m trying to bring to my chaotic room! lovely ideas!!!
…purple for christmas… i LOVE it!!!
Hello. It is test.
This is a very nice combination of colors I agree with Andrea, it is serene. Those mini cupcakes look great and the tablescape is simply serene.
Great job!
The link for the grape spritzer is not working… Does anybody know where I can find it? This will go perfect with my sister’s birthday party theme this weekend!! THANKS!!
Has ANYONE been able to find those shoes online? The bride got them from a store in LA called Shoe-nami, but they don’t have a website.
