Kicking It Ninjago Style 6th Birthday Party
‘Ninjago‘ is a LEGO Collection, turned TV Series, that has become hugely popular, especially as a party theme. At her son’s request for his 6th Birthday, Fransiska Subroto of Burgundy Event Coordinating created this Kicking It Ninjago Style Party that she knew would be a hit! Japanese details included green tea parfaits, individual bento boxes for each guest, sushi and a tea bar! And of course, the Ninjago guards on the cake came out perfectly!
PARTY HIGHLIGHTS to look out for:
- Green tea & almond cookies and personalized bento box lunches
- Cool dragon piñata, face painting, balloon animals & a super fun magician!
- Flower filled chinese take out box centerpieces + Sensei Tea Bar
PARTY DETAILS as told by Fransiska…
I had so much fun planning this Ninjago themed party for my son’s 6th birthday. He requested to have a Ninjago party months in advance. He knew he wanted a cake with all 4 Ninja and Sensei Wu figures on it. With that in mind, I started to brainstorm with my business partner, Prisca, to create something bold, fun, and with a touch of sophistication to make this Ninjago-themed party a little different than what’s out there.
Decorations
We decided to go with black, red, and white as the main colors with touches of yellow. We incorporated a lot of Asian, mainly Japanese, details to the decor and to all of the personalized items; from hanging lanterns above the dessert table, Chinese to-go boxes to hold the flower arrangements on the tables, personalized Japanese bento boxes that were set on each place setting for the kids, chopstick wrappers, personalized juice boxes, and many more.
Desserts
The desserts table was decorated with hanging Chinese lanterns. The backdrop was inspired from one of the dojos in the story. We wanted the desserts table to be appealing to both adults and kids, which featured green tea mousse, raspberry trifle, macarons, pocky sticks, and jasmine-infused creme brûlée. Last but not least, my son specifically requested that his birthday cake had the main Ninja characters and the Sensei on it.
Food
- To go along with the theme, a spread of sushi, noodles, and egg rolls were served on the food table.
- A couple of Japanese food banners were displayed, along with a few Chinese to-go box centerpieces.
Sensei Wu Tea Bar
We also came up with a tea bar idea for the adults. One of the main characters in Ninjago, Sensei Wu, loves to drink tea. So we thought it’d be perfect to serve a few different kinds of tea and Asian-inspired cookies on the tea bar. The tea bar was definitely a huge hit!
Activities
The kids were having so much fun at the jump house. Since we didn’t have enough space for any Ninja-like activities, we decided to hire a Magician/Face Painter/Balloon Artist to entertain all the kids (and adults!)

We also made Ninjago water bottles using a free printable bottle wrap that I found here . We attached a Kool-Aid packet and it was another cute little thank you for his guests. Our son had a wonderful time celebrating with his friends and for this we felt we were successful in hosting his Ninjago themed birthday party. Thanks for reading, as I know this was a long post. Hope you have fun planning your next party. If you have any questions with regards to anything I may have not throughly explained please feel free to ask.
