outdoor summer party for kids

Looking for a fun way to entertain the kiddos this summer? Jessica from Everyday Party Magazine created this adorable Kites & Pinwheels Outdoor Summer Party to kick off their summer vacation! Kids don’t need a ton to create their own fun, so I love that they took this party to a nearby park and let them just run around blowing bubbles & playing with the pinwheels. Of course, I’m also totally loving seeing our Kites & Pinwheels collection in action! ;)

PARTY DETAILS to look out for:

  • Kite & pinwheel decorated cake with kite silhouette topper + party circle wrapped candy cups
  • Cotton candy ‘ice cream’ cones + frosted kite rice krispie pops on paper straws with party flags
  • Fresh lemonade with pinwheel silhouette paper straws & Summer ‘2014’ bottle wraps
  • Pinwheel topped sidewalk chalk & bubble filled party favor bags

PARTY DETAILS as told by Jessica

As soon as I saw the adorable kites and pinwheels party printables from Hostess INK, I knew I had to use them! The bright colors and fun patterns just screamed summer to me. It was just what I was looking for for our end of year summer vacation party.

We had our party at the park to kick off our summer fun. My fabulous friend Becca from Batter Up! Sweetery made the amazing cake for our celebration. I made the super cute kite Krispie treats by cutting store bought treats and decorating them with melting chocolates. I stuck them on cute paper straws, added the super cute flags and voila!

Every summer party needs ice cream, so I painted paper mâché cones, added a little rick rack, layered some cupcake wrappers to make them food safe, and filled them with cotton candy. It’s ice cream without the mess! And of course no summer party is complete with out lemonade.

The favor boxes were filled with all the summer essentials: bubbles, sidewalk chalk and of course, pinwheels. The table was adorable with with all of the fun cut outs that matched the printables and signs and the beautiful colored flowers!

The kids had a great time running around the park with their pinwheels and blowing bubbles while we celebrated our summer vacation kick off!
