I know that Valentine’s Day is tomorrow, but I couldn’t resist posting some last-minute inspiration from ’round the web… especially since pretty much all of these ideas can be re-purposed for other occasions too!

Starting from the top: Adorable Valentine-themed cupcakes from Jeanne Benedict
*I’m especially loving the top version for any sort of “pretty in pink” party for your favorite fashionista friend or princess-loving girl. It would even be cute to use lots of different patterns, colors, and “buckle” styles & create an entire “runway” of cupcakes!

Next up: Tired of heart-shaped chocolates and candy? Try whipping up a batch of Homemade Coffee Marshmallows for your sweetie instead. Find the step-by-step DIY tutorial here, courtesy of Prudent Baby.

And while presentation might not be everything, it certainly accounts for a LOT! For example…

…these adorable treats from BHG look so much more tempting with the little “extras” that are involved.

In the image on the left, a band of thin red licorice & a heart-shaped sprinkle transform a simple cookie into an adorable “gift”. (Pictured here with a Lemon Rose Cookie, but you could really use any square shaped store-bought or homemade cookie for this idea.)

And on the right… the tiered layers in the Flower Cookies with Cardamom do a great job of demonstrating what most of us already know… 3 cookies is better than 1!

Last but not least, if you feel like getting crafty OUTSIDE the kitchen, check out these fun homemade ideas from Brides.com – a sweet Valentine’s Day Matchbook Scrapbook, and Valentine’s Day Candy Matchboxes.

(Once again… so easy to modify both of these ideas to work for other occasions too… the candy matchboxes in particular would make for super cute party favors or place setting embellishments!)

I love all of these ideas. I completely agree that the matchbook covers would be cute for many different ideas. In fact, inspired by that very post I recently created invitations to a party we have held.
