Lauren & Jeff’s Whimsical Kite Wedding
The first time I stumbled upon this colorful, creative, and wonderfully whimsical wedding in Jesi Haack’s portfolio I seriously gasped (as in audibly). I can’t imagine any other reaction to that amazing paper flower/pinwheel/kite installation on the ceremony arbor though… can you? =)
Beautifully captured by Ashley Rose and coordinated/designed by Jesi Haack, this gorgeous & unique Kite-Inspired Wedding is full of lovely, playful details (including a handcrafted “kite guestbook” and party blowers!) and – simply put – looks like a complete blast! Check out the fun, eclectic look to the tables and the fabulous balloon rainbow backdrop behind Sweet & Saucy‘s dessert buffet!

PARTY DETAILS, as told by Jesi…

Invitations
We started with a kite. And BOY, did Posh Paperie NAIL it! They even were complete with a cute kite “tail” that came off of the invite! LOVED THEM!
Tables
Crisp, white linen scattered with colored bird houses, and vintage milkglass full of whimsical florals by JL Designs.
Dessert Display
My Sweet & Saucy’s amazingness (as usual) with a backdrop of helium filled balloons creating our color scheme and funky decor style.
Guest Book
Hand crafted kite, covered in vintage fabric. We also cut a bunch of strips of fabric for the guests to “sign” and then tie to the “tail” of our kite. LOVED IT.
Ceremony Magic
TONS of handmade pinwheels, flowers, kites, and more covering the altar. Sweet floral print fabric lining the aisle and pinwheels on sticks lining the chairs. Mr. Haack was KEY in the ceremony decor installation. It would NOT have come together so beautifully without him.
Party Favor
You wouldn’t have known it, but this was a 4th of July wedding, so I snuck in some fun party blowers. I also sneakily handed them out to the bridal party to blow loud and clear when the newlyweds had their first kiss in the ceremony. It ended up being one of my favorite aspects of the wedding!”

OMG I love this wedding! I saw it a while ago but I only remember the arbor! The way you set it up here is so fun; it makes it look brand new and memorable!!!
Love the color of the bridesmaid dress. (Would like it myself)!
Om gosh! Love that kite/pinwheel ceremony arch!! Wow! The detail on the cake is beautiful! What a great wedding! Always amazed by others talents!

Sooo in love!! the arch… to die to for!! Love it-love it-love it!!! Loved the whole thing- really enjoyed looking at the pictures. Awesome job!
This might be my favorite wedding/party/event I’ve ever seen anywhere ever. Everything about it screams joy. What a celebration that must have been.
What a gorgeous archway! I love the floral runner, too. So unique!
Gorgeous!!!!! Very creative and different!
I’m in love with this wedding! Amazing! It’s so unique, without sacrificing any of its style.
I love this wedding!!! Jesi Haack is so creative and inspiring!

What a FUN wedding!! I need a do-over.
WOW. Adorable. Gorgeous. Clever… loved it. You see so many, albeit, gorgeous weddings/themes day after day (I love lookiing at wedding/event blogs), but this one really stood out. Kudos to whoever came up with this idea, so whimsical. I’m totally impressed and this is one of the coolest and most inspiring weddings I’ve seen!!! Thanks for sharing!
I love every single thing about this wedding. I love how they combined all the in things right now (kites, pinwheels, cake pops!). An awesome combo of rustic and whimsical. Just love it!
Oh my. There’s really no other thing to say about this wedding – it’s just STUNNING all round. The paper, the stationery, the drinks station, the colours…everything is so vibrant and beautiful
This wedding is amazing, and I especially love the archway. What a truly unique and FUN wedding!
LOVE all the details!
OMG.. I love everything abt this wedding. All the paper crafts, decorations, cakes… just perfect.. Love it.http://turtlecraftygirl.blogspot.com/
Love the vintage vibe, but done in a fresh, young way!! Love the pinwheels everywhere, and how creative they were in using the kites and pinwheels! I just adore anything in the paper-folding genre! I’ve been obsessing on paper lace doilies this spring. I’m working on a luncheon theme that takes the lace doily right out from under the cake! Check it out…www.misspartysmarty.com
This is incredible!! I’ve never seen anything like it. It is simply magical.
how fun! Love how it looks so chic even with such basic supplies!
where is the dress from!
it is Cymbeline. :)
jenn, you are TOO good to me, my friend. What an honor that you looked at MY portfolio!!!
I love the colors and the setting, almost a scene from the movie Up. Now I am craving a hazelnut chocolate cupcake…
I love EVERYTHING about this wedding!! The paper pinwheels, and that lace dress, and the flower headband…the sneakers and vests…too cute :)
Soooooooooooooo cute!!!!!!! I think it’s darn gawsh perfect
What a beautiful wedding. I love the simplicity of it. It is very fun, retro and chic all at the same time. Not your traditional wedding. That’s the best part!! I like when bride’s and coordinator’s think outside of the box. It adds such a special touch to your day. I’m a trendsetter and not a trend follower!!!
Such pretty images, love her wedding dress, so cute.
Absolutely ADORE every little detail in this wedding…whimsical, playful, carefree and fun! Great job, everyone!!!
I just LOVE IT!
I loved the isle runner! Totally unexpected.
Who created the bride’s lovely headpiece? It’s incredible!!!!!!
