Birthday boy Bodhi looks absolutely adorable in his custom bow tie + argyle outfit by mommy, Barbara of Barbara Neely Designs! PARTY DETAILS, as told by Barbara…

This past weekend we threw a little party in honor of our little man. Taking inspiration from classic, sophisticated patterns like argyle and pinstripe I added a modern twist with a pop of orange and teal grounded by chocolate, warm greys and ecru. I love a mix of vintage and modern elements and patterns.

The photo banner features a photo from each month of his first year. I had found a gorgeous handmade quilt at a flea market around the time Bodhi was born. It’s my favorite kind, you know the ones where none of the fabrics match! Anyway, I used it as the backdrop in his monthly pictures. The numbers ironed on his shirts all have different printed patterns inside. Month 10 has my train design pattern inside, month 9 features my robot design. By making nothing match, it all matches. LOVE how they turned out!

The high chair is a family heirloom. Everyone in my family starting with my uncle has fallen out of it.  So, this is Bodhi’s right of passage. Given that fact, now that the party is over it’s going right back in the attic. ;)
