Oh my sunshine! If this party doesn’t make you happy (when skies are grey), I don’t know what will! Ashley Joseph of Two Be Wed filled this Cheery “You Are My Sunshine” First Birthday Party with lots of sunny yellow decor, delicious mini brunch foods & plenty of love for her little ray of sunshine’s special day while Kimberly Lee of Kimberly Chau Photography beautifully captured it all. I am especially loving the paper details (no surprise there), like the crepe paper banners, custom garlands & adorable invitation.

PARTY DETAILS as told by Ashley…

In her first year of life, our daughter has been nothing but smiles and sunshine. It seemed only appropriate to celebrate the little ray of sunshine that she is with a “Little Miss Sunshine” themed party. I chose all of the decor to coordinate with her nursery, in shades of yellow and grey in order to repurpose in her room afterwards. The “Sunshine” banner is one of my favorites and fits perfectly above her crib.

Evalyn is a food-lover like her mama and breakfast is her favorite meal of the day. We chose a brunch menu complete with all her breakfast favorites in miniature sizes. The menu was adult and kid friendly: mini pancakes, mini muffins, chicken and waffle bites, bacon on a stick, fruit & donut kabobs, sausage & egg muffins, fresh berries and every toddler’s favorite, cheerios.

Being in the wedding industry has it’s perks especially a surplus of talented friends like Nib and Pixel, Buttercup Houston and Kimberly Chau Photography. I’m a typographer lover and sucker for anything hand-lettered. Dionne did a lovely job with the bright & cheery, sunshine motif watercolor invites. Her calligraphy is so whimsical, the lettering looked like a sunset coming to life! Kristina from Buttercup created a deliciously adorable ombre ruffled cake and lemon macarons. Kimberly Chau captured all their hard work and the details so perfectly. It was a happy day that my daughter and I will cherish forever!
