Rustic Modern Fall Bridal Shower

Ready for some pretty autumn eye candy? Good… because there are tons of lovely & inspired details to admire in this BEAUTIFUL Rustic-Modern Fall Bridal Shower from Chris at Celebrations at Home – and this look could easily be tailored to any type of fall celebration!

The mix of red, aqua, and yellow tones looks fantastic with the different wood, wire, and rattan textures incorporated here, and the pretty block-print floral pattern carried throughout all of the paper details really helps tie everything together beautifully. I’m especially loving the mini tied fabric garland that’s draped across a vintage shutter on the dessert table! Chris always does such an amazing job with her styling of vintage props and frames…this theme actually reminds me of another very lovely fall party she designed last year that also has her signature touch!

PARTY DETAILS, as told by Chris

“I recently worked with a fabulous team of vendors to create a bridal shower design that would showcase each participants work, and inspire others. Even though I create parties for clients, my real passion is doing editorial styling that helps convey ideas and tips for the average hostess.

For this bridal shower concept I wanted to mix ‘rustic’ with ‘modern’.  Once given permission to use Studio 418 for our shoot, I knew I had to make the most of the gorgeous brick walls. To my delight, on the day we arrived there was an art exhibit on the schedule and we ended up having some beautiful ‘rustic-modern’ painted canvas’ on the walls which coordinated perfectly with our look!

I set the dining table with a simple table cloth layered with fabric & a ribbon runner. The nice thing about this casual style is how forgiving it is – no sewing required for the fabric runner, just use pinking shears to cut it and it doesn’t fray.

The centerpiece was a small flower arrangement made more important by topping it with a rustic chicken wire cloche. If you ever used these folding banquet tables, you know how narrow they can be when trying to dress a table!

The place settings were layered with a card trio I had custom designed by Delovely Designs. I thought of the idea when I realized how many elements go into a place setting. These save space by combining a name card, a menu card, and a ‘bridal trivia’ question (or conversation starter) all attached with a pretty brad in the corner. Pretty clever, huh?! Also included in the place settings were IKEA vases used for drinks, and large matchboxes used to hold favors. Once again, Charlotte (Delovely Designs) created these custom wraps for us that looked so great on the table. You could fill the boxes with a homemade baked good, or some other trinket for your guests.

For the dessert table I wanted to use the brick wall as the backdrop. All I needed to add were a few props such as a rustic shutter, an empty frame, and the letter ‘C’ for our guest of honor’s monogram. To bring some color to the space I draped a mini fabric-knotted swag across the shutter – a great little ‘trick’ you can use anywhere!

The sweets are kept to a minimum so that our cake pops from Candy Valley would be the ‘star’. I love using 1 or 2 designer desserts and filling in with store bought or homemade items. A few hard candies, some toffee, and M&M’s are all I used here to round out the look and bring in our color palette.

As another activity, Charlotte made us some monogrammed note cards for the guests to write down ‘advice for a happy marriage’ for the bride to be.

Everything came together so well and each vendor was an important piece of the puzzle. I hope this provides some inspiration to other hostesses out there.”
