PARTY DETAILS, as told by Vanessa

Theme

  • Mickey Mouse Clubhouse

I went with a non traditional approach to the very popular children’s party theme. I decided to focus on the bright colors and all characters as opposed to just focusing on Mickey.

Dessert Table

The dessert table was made to replicate the opening scene of the MMC show. The yard with the clubhouse, trees, mountains, grass, all characters and even Donald in his hot air hand balloon flying above. All cake pop characters were outfitted with appropriate attire complete with glitter shoes and balloons for the birthday boy. The Characters are celebrating Patrick’s 1st birthday.

The walking path is made out of cookies and each tree hid jars full of m&m’s (client’s favorite treat). There were also sweets hidden in the decor.

The clubhouse held 48 mini red velvet cupcakes with red fondant.

Decor made by VGE: Name “PATRICK” character plaque, animal cracker favor bags, dessert table backdrop complete with 3D clouds, trees and mountains, table covers, custom 12 month frame of the birthday boy, all center pieces, all activities, banners, chair embellishments, all paper products, Handy Helper party sign…

Custom mason jars, animal cracker bags for the little ones and custom matching cookies.

Once the birthday song was sung and guests had their dessert, I removed the table and placed it behind the backdrop. The backdrop doubled as a backdrop for photos.

Activities

Toodles Game: I designed an interactive Toodles game. There were two mouskatools and 1 mystery mouskatools. The children were encouraged to search the yard for the missing party hats which was facilitated by the MM binoculars locked inside the treasure chest which they needed a special key to open.

MMC themed coloring books with MM shaped crayons.

Cookie Decorating: I set up a kids table and placed a MM shaped sugar cookie on each plate. Kids were encouraged to frost and add toppings to the cookies to take home in addition to other favors.

    Hi,

You did a great job with all of the decorating ideas for your child’s Mickey party! I have a few questions though, where did you find those black polka dot mickey embellishments used for the straws and did you just glue them on? Also, where did you happen to find a treasure chest/key? I absolutely love the game that you came up with!
