Modern & Vibrant Geometric Party {Teen Birthday}

It’s often WAY easier to design a party with a theme to help develop creative ideas, activities, and even plan the food. That’s why I’m giving Jenny Raulli of Bloom Designs Online a *virtual* high five today! Her teenage daughter requested a “themeless” party, and she still managed to completely transform her backyard for the occasion. Audrey’s Sweet & Modern Birthday Party featured geometric shapes and elements of a purely celebratory vibe {think confetti, garlands & balloons galore!} – all brought together in a carefully color-coordinated palette of yellow, orange, and PINK of course!

P.S. With three daughters, Jenny sure has mastered the art of pink-infused parties! See her Pink Flower BLOOM Birthday, Girly Woodland Party and Sparkly Pink Star Party in the archives.

PARTY HIGHLIGHTS to look out for:

  • Ombre sugar cookie stacks displayed on patterned-paper-covered dessert stands
  • Backyard movie seating area with colorful pillows, balloons & popcorn
  • Popular movie theater candy boxes completely transformed with custom labels!
  • Mini tissue garland cake topper + layers of ruffled crepe paper adorning the mantle
  • Honeycomb ball table runner + awesome paper triangle garland table backdrops
  • Photo banner with pictures of the birthday girl from each year of her life

PARTY DETAILS as told by Jenny…

I am so excited to finally share my daughter’s Sweet Thirteenth Birthday Party with
you. Being a teenager, she had definite opinions about how she wanted to celebrate. She was insistent that she wanted a birthday party without a “theme”. We came up with a pretty color scheme of lemon, apricot, pink and raspberry and incorporated them into a simple geometric pattern. We decorated with tons of balloons in all several different sizes and lots of honeycomb balls and pom poms.

The dessert table consisted of macaroons, cupcakes, sugar cookies and mini chocolate covered Oreos all in our color scheme.

A runner of honeycomb ball decorated the center of the dinner table and each place setting had a mini tube of confetti. After dinner the girl had planned on watching a movie so we set up two white sofas or the grass (thank goodness for slip covers), brought out a dozen fleece blankets from Ikea and filled a Sweet Treats Movie table with lots of fun concessions.

I used a cart from Ikea that I spray paint pink and gold to hold the party favors. The girls left with little treats in mini gable boxes that I made to match the invitation and confetti filled mini balloons.

My favorite part of the party has to be the mini banner with a photo of Audrey from each year of her life. Truly the sweetest thing!

    Thanks so much for featuring my party. It is always a delight to be on HWTM. And really? What’s a party without a little pink!
