PARTY DETAILS, as told by Julia

This was the celebration of the first year in Andreas’s life. He is a beautiful boy, with a lot of energy and lots of love to give, and his parents wanted something very especial and boyish for their blue eyed baby! They love minimalist decoration and asked us to keep in mind that “less is more” for the party they had envisioned. Contrary to the majority of parents, they also wanted us to find a theme for the birthday party that stayed a little away from “cute” and all the teddy bears and plushies that moms usually ask as decorations here in Brazil, wich of course was really fun to create! So after much thought and searching, we came across a simple blue wooden truck that we all loved and created everything around that!

We tried to do something very symmetrical, using basic shapes and specially straight lines. The main color was light blue with touches of red, we wanted to take advantage of all the beautiful light available in the room so we decided to stick to a lighter palette. We hanged paper decorations on all the windows, used red balloons to bring a pop of color to the party and put pictures of Andreas with family and friends throughout his 12 months of life on all the pillars available in the room. The ribbons and hanged letters gave the dessert table’s background some personality without taking attention off the desserts themselves. We love how the simplicity of this decorations made it all the more beautiful in the end!

The dessert table was an incredible sight with Isa Herzog’s sweet work! Our cute blue truck was on the cake and cupcakes, the cookies and tiny cupcakes had a vintage feel to them and the cake pops where adorable with their polka dots! On this dessert table we couldn’t be without Black Tie’s gourmet flavors brigadeiros and it all came together with some fresh homemade lemonade!

We are really really happy with this party’s result and the emotion and compliments we got from Andreas’s parents was the cherry on top!
