Modern Thanksgiving Table: Orange & Gray

Modern Thanksgiving Table Ideas

When Alexandra from Enchanted Events & Design recently stumbled on some cool orange/gray/white patterns, she was inspired to design her Thanksgiving table around them this year. So… instead of pairing oranges & yellows with earthy browns like you typically see on Thanksgiving, she used gray & silver to give the table a fresh, modern vibe. It’s amazing how something as simple as swapping out a single color can give a traditional holiday celebration a fresh, updated feel!

Inspiration:

  • “I ran across these two patterns (pictured above) at Jo-Ann Fabrics and I instantly fell in love with the gray/orange/white color combination. I used the one on the left to create the menus.

Place Cards:

  • The place cards are actually envelopes that I tied to the back of each of the chairs with a ribbon. I attached each person’s name to the envelope in a cutout to match the menus. These serve a dual purpose as a place card and also as a Thanksgiving activity: Each guest is given some blank cards (one for each of the other guests). They can then write a brief little note of thanks and love to each of the other guests and place it in the corresponding envelopes (like a Valentine). At the end of the meal each person gets an envelope full of wonderful notes from their friends and/or family.

Shopping Resources:

  • Leaf garland wrapped around the candle holder – 99 cent only store.
  • Mini pumpkins and turban squash – grocery store
  • Table cloth & runner (gray pinstripe and orange gingham fabrics) – Jo-Ann Fabrics
