PARTY DETAILS, as told by Wendy

Theme

Non-Fiction Fun! My daughter loved non-fiction books and riddles at the time, so I revolved the theme around riddles which was great fun. I had riddles on the front and the back of water bottles, in the kids’ lunch packs and within the activities.

Activities

  • Sand Bottles: Bottles from Save on Crafts
  • Sniff and Guess: Scents from Pizza to skunk in little sample perfume bottles so that the kids can guess what they are smelling
  • Trivia: Propped stations around the backyard giving the kids pencils and answer sheets to answer riddles
  • Scrapbooks: Printed pictures of Aiden’s classmates through the school year and picked up great scrapbooks and scrapbooking materials from Michaels. The girls had a great time putting the scrapbooks together.
  • Photo Backdrop: Lots of fun props on a stick, hats and accessories for the girls to dress up

Diy Crafts

  • Pom Poms: Inspired by a blog post, I recreated her fabric pom poms to match the color/patterns for cupcake toppers
  • Dowels/Ribbon: Inspired by Love the Day – spray painted dowels, screwed in an eyelet screw on top from hardware store, tied lots of ribbons and adorable tag
  • Name Flags: Each girls had their own bunting flag embroidered with their name
  • Cake Pop Boxes: Large thick styrofoam cut down to squares and wrapped with wrapping paper.
