PARTY DETAILS as told by Ashley

My Daughter Halle LOVES Pink Lemonade, so we thought it would be fun to throw her a Pink Lemonade Party for her 9th Birthday!! She helped me design our Pink Lemonade Printable Pack and had lots of input on what she wanted for the colors and patterns. It made the party planning super fun to have her involved (she is a little Mini ME)! First we chose the color palette she wanted with bright yellow, light pink and raspberry/hot pink. Once we had the color palette down, it was time to design. We stuck with simple patterns, polka dots, chevrons & gingham’s.

Once the printables were done, we started planning the most fun part of all: the Dessert Table!! I made the the cake, I am not a pro & have never taken a cake class, so don’t look too close! ;) I just attempt to do my kids’ cakes for their parties. I stuck with a simple yet cute cake. We did the bottom layer with all white fondant and  pink ric rac ribbon to dress it up. I wanted to do Chevron on the bottom but the ribbon was a quicker and easier solution and still created a cute look. For the middle layer, we went with solid yellow with white polka dots to match the printables. The top layer was all pink fondant with a hot pink ric rac ribbon topped with the cutest lemon cookie! I had no idea what I was going to put on the top until I got my cookies from ICINGS BY ANG and I new right then that the adorable Cookie that say’s Halle’s Pink Lemonade Stand would top off my cake perfectly!!

The week of the party when the goodies start to arrive is so fun when you start to get packages filled with fun matching desserts!! Our Pink Lemonade cookies from Icings by Ang were absolutely perfect for our dessert table. So many cute designs that matched our printables. Her art work on the cookies is AMAZING. We then ordered some cute pink and lemon macarons from the Splendid Sweet Shoppe. I also ordered some chocolate covered Oreo’s from HowSweetItIs By Meliss. She sent us a variety of the colors and they were topped with cute sixlets — perfect for the dessert table and a great size for the favor boxes too.

As for cupcakes, I had so many ideas so we ended up doing 3 different styles of cupcakes… they were all Pink Lemonade cupcakes but we decorated them differently. We started off with out simple yet cute Printable cupcake toppers & wrappers, personalized with her name and age. We had also seen some pink lemonade cupcakes on pinterest that were made to look like a drink topped with a short paper straw and a sliced lemon. We also bought fondant cupcake toppers from FondantFantasy that were even cuter in real life — the colors & designs were perfect!

We made candy kabobs for my youngest daughters birthday a while back and my daughter really wanted us to make them for her party this ti, so I bought lots of different pinks and yellow candies and we create the cute pink lemonade candy kabobs. They were a huge hit with all the kids! For table fillers, I made some cute Lemon Parfaits using lemon pudding and cool whip, they are fast, simple and cheap and we topped them off with some sixlets. I also added mini and standard candy bars using our printables as well as Hershey’s kisses topped with our printables.

We used our white ruffle table cloth from SewWhatGrandma and a pink pin-tuck table cloth as our backdrop with printable pendant flags on each side of the center piece. For our backdrop, I created a painted white frame with our big Lemons Printable in the middle. I can’t take all the credit as I have been loving all of Sweetly Chic Events Dessert tables lately and they have done the frame in the middle of their backdrops and it always looks so good and is a good finishing touch to the party, so thanks Sweetly Chic Events for the cute idea!

For my daughter’s outfit, we just went with a yellow ruffle skirt and a white tank top from Hanna Anderson and we topped it off with an adorable Pink Lemonade Bubblegum Necklace & matching Shabby Chic Headband from Girly Girlz Boutique.
