PARTY DETAILS as told by Jenny

I styled this party for my daughter, Hillary.  Hillary is a girly girl who loves pink and puppies so a poodle skirt party was the perfect way to celebrate her 11th birthday.  I stuck to a bubble gum pink, black and white color scheme in all of the paper printables and party décor. The birthday girl wore a custom poodle skirt that matched the invitation.

The dessert table was filled with lots of sweet treats and toppings for ice cream sundaes.  The ice cream was pre-scooped into individual containers labeled with poodle stickers and brought out when the girls were ready to eat.  This made serving so simple.  Other desserts included poodle paw brownie stacks, poodle fluff, cupcakes, strawberry shakes, and sugar cookies. Lots of paper tissue tassels  filled the backdrop.

The girls had lots of fun in our photo booth, which I made by covering a piece of drywall with wrapping paper.  I cut out lots of fun glasses and bows and had a few dress up pieces for the girls to use. The girls loved taking their photo with the wooden poodle made by Ten 23 Designs.  It matched the poodle on our paper products perfectly. The guests also did their nails and hair at the Poodle Parlor and then Painted-A-Poodle.  I love having a painting activity at my parties.  Kids of any age can do it.

The dinner table was filled with lots of fluffy pom poms and I personalized basic paper plates using vinyl decals and a Sharpie to make them look like poodle skirts.  After feasting on poodle pasta and puppy pizza, the girls settled into couches which I had moved outside for a movie under the stars.  The concession stand had lots of sweet treats like leashes, poodle pearls and sticks which all fit the theme.  Boxes of candy were covered in custom wrappers.  Poodle puff (cotton candy) and three types of cupcakes kept the girls happy while they watched their movie.

We ended the night with a three layer smash cake that I made of strawberry, vanilla and chocolate cake- a tradition started on Hillary’s first birthday and continued every since.

I ABSOLUTELY adore that cake table. The idea to place the lanterns and poms underneath is so cute!
