In continuing with Part 1 {Drinks & Decor} of the Contemporary Urban Baby Shower designed by Melissa Paul of Evantine Design, here’s Part 2, which covers the gorgeous appetizers and decadent Sweet Sugar Bar

The attention to presentation is fantastic here – from lobster mac-n-cheese served in asian soup spoons to grilled cheese triangles displayed atop tomato-soup skewers and secured with bamboo cocktail picks.

Another great presentation element: the use of of a single tropical bloom to accent each Hors D’Oeuvres plate.

FOOD

Stephen Starr Events (NY, FL, PA) provided the savory foods, including the mommy-to-be’s biggest cravings, such as:

Passed Hors D’Oeuvres:

  • Thai Chicken Skewers w/Peanut Dipping Sauce
  • Cheesesteak Egg Rolls w/Spicy Ketchup
  • Home Baked “Pigs in a Blanket” w/Spicy Mustard
  • Mini Soup & Sandwiches (Petite Tomato Soup Shooters w/Grilled Four Cheese Triangles)
  • Mini Oven Roasted Pulled Pork
  • Aged Provolone and Garlic Broccoli Rabe on Fresh Italian Rolls
  • Lobster Mac n’ Cheese served in Asian spoons
  • Crispy Calamari Salad

Slider Station

Kobe Beef Sliders grilled-to-order on brioche bread and served with a variety of toppings, including ketchup, mustard, BBQ sauce, mayo, ranch dressing, cheddar cheese, micro romaine lettuces, tomato, and caramelized onions.

Mashed “Toe” Bar

Mashed potatoes whipped and mashed to order with chive red bliss smashed potatoes (with skin on), classic butter Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, and truffled Yukon Gold mashed potatoes with an assortment of toppings like assorted finely chopped fresh herbs, grated imported cheeses, double smoked applewood bacon, Lardons Sour Cream and lavender butter.

Big Time Waffle Station

Freshly Baked Waffles pressed to order and offered with Vanilla Ice Cream, Chocolate Ice Cream, Cinnamon Ice Cream, Chocolate Sauce, Butterscotch Bananas, Whipped Cream, Sprinkles, Toasted Walnuts, etc.

SWEET SUGAR BAR

Guests were invited to sample one of the many mini desserts or take them home for later.

Tall white vases filled with Bells of Ireland flanked the display.
