REAL PARTIES: High School Musical 3

high school musical party

The super-creative Robyn Bomar from Mix Mingle Glow recently created a fabulous “High School Musical 3” themed party that I’m sure would make lots of girls VERY HAPPY! Robyn’s party was actually held outside of a movie theater to celebrate the release of the new movie, but you could re-use these ideas anytime for a fun HSM-themed birthday party!

INVITATIONS:

For the invitations, Robyn created official “VIP Passes” with all the party details written on the back, then tucked them into tins filled with red, white, and gold m&m’s, and a small card asking guests to arrive in their “East High red and white” to show some spirit!

TABLETOP:

The table is covered with a red crushed velour linen topped with a gold satin runner and decorative accents like pompoms and plastic megaphones. Place settings consist of scrapbook paper placemats, square plastic plates and napkins tied with a Wildcats mascot tag.

Vases filled with chocolate foiled basketballs (for East High’s championship sport) and roses make for a fun themed centerpiece with and elegant touch.

FUN EXTRAS:

Gold purses double as gift bags (or “swag bags” in Hollywood terms!) filled with monogram jewelry and stationery, as well as plenty of HSM goodies. Chairs were backed with “Reserved” signs and red and white feather boas, which make for great party pictures!

Thanks to Robyn for the inspiration! For more fun ideas like this, be sure to check out the Mix Mingle Glow blog!

P.S. If you’re throwing this party at home, you could always view DVD’s of the first 2 movies and serve up movie-themed treats like twizzlers and mini bags of popcorn.

And on that note…the party doesn’t even necessarily need to be HSM themed – you can take inspiration from Robyn’s ideas to create a cool party based on whatever the guest of honor’s favorite movie happens to be!

This is so cute – I think my daughter would have a freak-out attack if she went to a party like this – or better yet if I threw her one! :)

I live in Salt Lake City and have a friend who did a similar party AT East high, where it was actually filmed. The kids went nuts.

You thought of everything! I sell LOTS of car monograms…not as LARGE as the one on the door in HSM, but people put them everywhere from small ones on their cells to 3″ ones for lockers or flowerpots to 5″ ones for cars, and even 2 foot wide ones for dorms and bedrooms!
Nearly everything on our site is under $20! Thanks for looking!!!
