Ready for something that’s WONDERFULLY outside the bridal shower box? Check out this super-creative “LumberJack and Jill” themed couple’s shower by Trish of Frilly Milly Events!

From the eclectic mix of textures (plaid, burlap, kraft paper, wood, moss) – to the hilarious photo booth and ultra-stylish food presentation (baked beans in mini pots embellished with raffia & tiny spoons!), this shower is just overflowing with clever details…

And I’m not sure if it’s the glowing lights or the idea of “plaid = warmth”, but I think this concept would make for an awesome holiday party theme too!

Read on for more fun pics and party details, as told by Trish

“The original concept/theme was somewhat of an “enchanted forest” due to the couples’ love for vintage/outdoorsy/retro pieces, but when it all came together I decided it was more appropriately titled “LumberJack & Jill”.

Because it was a couples shower, I wanted it to not only be feminine and dainty, but have a strong masculine presence as well. In order accomplish that, I incorporated both plaids and wildflower prints into the decor and served “manly” bbq foods in small packages. (For example burger sliders, baked beans served in tiny pots, corn on the cob pieces on sticks, etc.)

I had the couple’s engagement photographer take profile shots of them, which I then turned into silhouettes and displayed above the buffet in a few old frames found at Goodwill.

The guests of honor used their silhouettes as “props” in the photo booth, which was our main source of entertainment!

The couple also chose to forgo receiving gifts and rather have their guests give to an orphanage…so I set up a “giving tree” for the donations.

For the take-home favors, I put together little brown bags with all of the ingredients to create a s’more with just a simple label that read “s’more love” on the front and the couple’s wedding date on the back.”

This is a fabulous idea for a theme! I love the corn on the cob sticks.

Curious though–is the mispelling of the word “Lumber” intentional? Perhaps one of the guests of honor is a chiropractor?

I just love the mini pots! Shooters are great, but they’ve been done and done. This is a definite party to refer back to for inspiration.

This Party looks like it would have been so much fun. When people get into theme I think they really relax. Love all the attention to detail. I did a vintage inspired sweet sixteen party recently so I know how much time it take to source everything. Thanks for sharing this.
