REAL PARTIES: Rustic Glam Baby Shower

Rustic Glam Baby Shower

I always love it when people combine two different looks to come up with something fresh and unique! For example, check out this fabulous “Rustic Glam” Baby Shower theme from the talented Katie of Katie Grace Designs! She did such a great job pairing rustic elements like wooden textures and tree stump “risers” with glam accents like lace, craft jewels, and edible gold beads.

The attention to detail at this party is just fantastic… the glass mugs on the hot cocoa bar were adorned with lace and sparkly flowers, wooden spoon “drink stirrers” were dipped in chocolate and embellished with rhinestones (and fanned out in rustic dishes for a cute presentation), cupcakes were displayed on a vintage shelf (a $4 flea-market find!) and dressed up with lace & metallic gold pipe cleaners… and much, much more!

PARTY DETAILS from Katie

I styled this shower to look glamorous but I wanted it to have rusticity to bring some “Boyish” charm into the mix. The Mom-to-be loves gold, bronze and brown so I wanted everything to look like something she would want to take home and put right in her nursery or in her house. I think we pulled it off because she showed up with an outfit that matched the shower PERFECTLY!

HOT COCOA BAR

To start off we did a fabulous “HOT COCOA Bar” with every topping you could imagine; Peppermints, butterscotch chips, peanut butter chips, whip cream, heath chips, peppermint syrup, raspberry syrup, caramel syrup and of course marshmallows!  I used ivory and gold lace to bring an added glamorous touch to the all of the glassware and to the coffee pot.

Tree stumps were cut from a local ranch by one of my friends and it added the perfect rustic touch. The wooden spoons came from Garnish. I dipped them in white chocolate and milk chocolate and then used a stamp and jewels to “glam” them up! They turned out cute and were great stirring utensils!

BUILDING BLOCKS

This was one of my favorite parts… I had been brainstorming like CRAZY trying to come up with something ORIGINAL for a baby shower activity. I bought these paper mache boxes and had my friend Emily work her magic on these plain boxes. They turned out cuter than I imagined! Everyone wrote little notes to Baby Shepherd on the building blocks and one day they will be a great toy for the baby and also they can be used as cute nursery decor! We wrote “Let’s ‘BUILD’ Shepherd up with words of love”.

THE DESSERT BAR

For the backdrop, I layered feather boas that I purchased from Save on Crafts with lace fabric that I purchased from a flea market. The wooden shelf was a 4$ flea market find and I thought it added the perfect rustic touch to the desserts.

I made the cupcake wrappers with layers of lace and ribbon then topped the cupcakes with edible gold beads. Trifle bowls are from Sur La Table and we filled them with an amazing cinnamon toast trifle. The miniature wooden spoons coming out of the trifle bowls are from Garnish and I of course bedazzled them using scrapbook gems from Hobby Lobby. The gold tree candle holder filled with bronze, red velvet cake balls was one of my favorite parts. The candle holder is  from T.J. Maxx. (These were supposed to be Bedazzled Bon Bons but with our crazy winter storm here they were stuck in Florida! One of our local bakeries, Rick’s Bakery came to the rescue last minute!)

PARTY FAVORS

The party favors were glass mugs from the Dollar tree filled with a scrumptious recipe for Hot Chocolate and a wooden spoon dipped in chocolate! (Same wooden spoons from Garnish with some added glam and bedazzle!) The tag reads, “May every sip bring you joy and remind you to pray for the “Smith” little boy”.”

This whole post is beautiful! But I especially love the necklace in the last photo. I wonder if I can make one to resemble it? I’m totally going to try!

What a classy looking bridal baby shower! My wife says that they look far too childish because there are pastel colors and baby games. Her best friend and I are planning something special for our first child that is a bit more upscale. I’ll be forwarding this on thanks.

I love it! I adore it! Where did you get the shape cut outs for the cupcake toppers and for the Shepherd name sign as well as the acutal “S” letters ?? Are they just papers with stencils used or stickers?

    LOve the building blocks!
I am trying to combine two themes, nautical and rustic for two very different girls due at the same time. One girl is doing a nautical theme baby room and the other is rustic (blue, cream with a white antler chandelier)
I was outnumbered on hosting two separate parties, so I am desperately trying to accomodate both tastes.
Any ideas would be extremely appreciated!

This could also be used for a Rustic Glam Bridal Shower! Same everything, with the bride-to-be’s new last name on the fireplace banner! LOVE LOVE LOVE! Thank you so much for sharing! :)
