For all the fashionistas out there, chances are good that you’re going to LOVE this fabulous “Something Blue” bridal shower created by Arizona Republic reporter Jaimee Rose.

The inspiration for this party? A pair of gorgeous blue heels (destined to make their next appearance at the wedding)!

Read on for lots more pics & all the party details, as told by Jaimee…

The entire event was designed around a pair of shoes — in this case, my friend Christina’s “something blue” that she plans to wear with her short wedding dress. These Louboutin lovelies deserve their own party — and they made for a killer centerpiece, to boot.

The party took place at Domestic Bliss (in Mesa, Arizona) – where guests could shop, sip, eat, AND do a craft project in the Blissful Living Studio.

We made these peacock fascinators for our hair, which was great because they pulled double duty as activity AND party favor.

Sinful treats were a must! Stacked Tiffany boxes were used to create a “cake stand” for mini lemon blueberry cupcakes, and blue paper cones held parmesan truffle popcorn.

Fruit and cookies were served in decorative blue & white cupcake liners, and mini ice cream scoops served in nut cups were topped with blue sprinkles.

Mini milkshakes were dressed up with retro blue & white straws that I cut in half. (The straws were purchased at Arizona-based sweet shop, Smeeks.)

Guests also enjoyed Greek salad, grapefruit mimosas, mini bottles of water embellished with personalized labels.

Just a few high-impact, really easy decorations were used. (Dear Martha Stewart, I LOVE you for selling your tissue paper flower kits at Michaels. Truly. I do.)

My mom did the roses for me. She lined the Tiffany box lid with plastic, filled it with Oasis floral foam, and tucked the roses into the foam in rows.

It’s always fun to display the wedding invitation, too. Christina’s invitation was created by my friend Andrea Heser, the local letterpress goddess of Featherpress Design.

I made the shower invites: simple postcards that went out in the mail. On the back, small die-cut envelopes held a card with all the important info on it.

Instead of playing party games, we playedphoto booth” at Allison Tyler Jones‘ AMAZING photo studio across the hall.

We all took turns in front of the camera, releasing our inner models. We laughed & laughed. Allison is one of the most talented photographers on earth, and it was a privilege to play with her. The cute blue props? Her idea.
