REAL PARTIES: Wonder Woman Birthday

Quick Jump To » Vendor Credits | Comments

Doesn’t this Wonder Woman birthday party look SUPER fun?! (Pun intended!) I’m dying to throw a “Wonder Mom” baby shower or “Wonder Bride” bridal shower for a friend after looking at these pictures…the wheels are turning!

Designed & styled by Jamee from Setting the Mood, there are so many wonderfully creative details to admire in this party – from the incredible comic-book-cover backdrop and crafty decoupaged letters, to adorable “word bubble” placemats and edible “Golden Lassos” made from knotted Twizzlers.

Read on for additional pics and all the clever details, as told by Jamee…

Shelby (the sweet birthday girl) has a love of all things Wonder Woman… she was introduced to wonder woman by her mom through the Super Friends DVD series. I remember Wonder Woman as a child so I was super excited to help with this event!

One of my favorite party elements was the Wonder Woman Candy & Trinket Buffet.  The buffet’s backdrop consisted of the iconic Wonder Woman logo displayed against lots of Wonder Woman comic book covers. I used  modern silver vessels to hold all of the candy and trinkets, and super hero boots were anchored at each end of the buffet.

The candy included

“Wonder Woman Lips” (chocolate lips wrapped in red foil) “Wonder Woman Golden Lassos” (yellow twizzler twists tied in a knot) Hot Tamales, Pop Rocks, Lemon Drops, Bubble Gum, gourmet popcorn, lollipops and more. Trinkets included: superhero puzzles, superhero flying shooters, Wonder Woman jet flyers, tops. We customized the favor bags with a label that said “thanks for coming…you’re a superfriend“.

The featured activity was a “Super Hero Craft Station”
The children were able to design a Wonder Woman tiara or superhero masks with colorful buttons, jewels, ribbons, stickers and pom poms.

The birthday girl’s favorite part was the Wonder Woman cake!
It was a two-tier round cake with all the WW logos and a fondant WW tiara on top.

Shelby’s last name is “Wingler”, so the drink & food station had a backdrop that read “Wingler Woman” in the old school Wonder Woman font.  Jelly Belly carbonated drinks in red, blue and yellow coordinated perfectly with the theme!

ADULT TABLES

Had a custom Wonder Woman cut-out displayed atop a cylinder with images of WW all around.  The placemats (which we also custom made) were shaped like comic bubbles and read POW, BOOM, BAM and SPLAT.  They looked great with the Wonder Woman glasses and gingham flatware.

KIDS TABLE

Centerpiece featured 3-D letters that spelled “SHELBY” and were decoupaged with Wonder Woman comic strips.  Flatware was red with white dots and the water bottles featured custom labels.

Shelby wore a cute little wonder woman costume and was so excited when she walked into the room.  She ran right over to her dad and thanked him.  It was such a fun and special day!

I heart Setting the Mood event planning style! I’ve seen their work all over the web – their parties are always bigger than life and one of a kind. My favorite was the Facebook party.
