REAL WEDDINGS: Cheery Summer Bicycle {Part 2}
In continuing with Part 1 of the “Summer Bicycle Inspired” wedding created by My Bride Story & team – here’s a recap of the “LOVE IS SWEET” DIY Ice Cream Station, as told by Esther:
“Kayla’s Kakes also came on board to create a one of a kind ice cream station, which couldn’t have been more fitting for this summer wedding. Don’t you think the white fence made for a perfect backdrop?! It was originally from my home, and Kayla had a handyman construct a backdrop from it especially for this wedding.
We also hand-picked our ice-cream scooper/high schooler (ha!). He scooped vanilla and strawberry ice-cream for each of the guests, then they got to add their own favorite toppings from a selection of choices that included sprinkles, coconut flakes, marshmallows, almonds, and a variety of fruits.”
Below are several fun shots of the Ice Cream Station, which also included an ADORABLE cake and fabulous signage/labels by Posh Paperie…
Thanks again to Esther for sharing all this creativity with us! If you haven’t seen Part 1 yet (featuring the flowers & decorations), you can check it out right here!

Love this so much!!! Where did the egg carton-like piece come from?????
Hello Natalie, the egg carton-like container was from Anthropologie, believe it or not. ;)
Such a great idea and a good “activity” for guests of all ages – I could see this working well for birthday parties too. Love the sweet cake topper!
I love this idea, it would be great for a kids party also. Just one question, how did they keep the ice cream from melting all over the place. Was it on ice, kept inside?
You always have the cutest wedding ideas! My wedding is going to be this New Year’s Eve, and we are having the hardest time coming up with how to decorate the reception. Any ideas? I have checked your New Year’s Eve ideas for parties at home, but they don’t translate well for a wedding. Thank you for ANY help!!
Who designed the cake topper? It looks like artwork my brother does!
Where did you get the little glass dishes?
How are the labels for the topping standing up like that? It looks like they are on popsicle sticks, but I’m wondering if they didn’t fall over once a few toppings were used.
What a great summer addition to any reception. I love the set up and how everything is presented.
Where did you get the ice cream cone holder
Very unique candy buffet! Check out our dessert table at http://momnmecreate.blogspot.com/2010/05/andrews-open-house-part-one.html

Love this idea!!
@michelle, the ice cream was kept in a freezer and we brought it out right after the bride & groom cut their cake.
@malanie, the topper dishes & ice cream holders were purchased at Macy’s
What a wonderful idea. So much color. I would lkike to do this with frozen yogurt. The kids will go crazy for this. Thanks.
