“Red Riding Hood” Inspired Birthday Party
This new “Red Riding Hood” theme by the sweet & talented Bird from Bird’s Party is absolutely darling in every way! I’ve always had a soft spot for Woodland-inspired themes in general (something about the fun mix of bold colors + natural elements), but the storybook element of this version adds such a fun twist!
Lots of clever inspiration to be found here… from the the homemade cupcakes & ice cream cake garnished with edible “moss” to the adorable bright red chocolate toadstools, themed paper bunting, moss ball “trees”, mossy stones used as place card holders, and more! Check out all these fun pics…
PARTY DETAILS, as told by Bird…
“This theme was inspired by my newest printable collection – a “Red Riding Hood” Inspired Woodland Birthday theme! I always like to get involved as much as I can for all my photo shoots, as party styling is one of my favorite aspects of the job!
SWEETS
I made most of the desserts myself, including Italian meringue frosting cupcakes, berry tarts and chocolate muffins covered in “edible moss” (dessicated coconut mixed with green food coloring). French macarons and caramel meringues were purchased locally, as well as french artisan chocolate lollipops, which really helped dress up the dessert table!
THE DECOR
included little styrofoam balls covered in moss, logs from my garden, wood chips and moss stones (purchased at a local “dollar” store!) to add a touch of rustic charm.
The cake was a Vanilla Ice Cream Roulade filled with raspberry cream. I sprinkled it with some of the same “edible moss” topping I made for the cupcakes. The cake was topped with adorable Chocolate Toadstools from Andie’s Specialty Sweets and surrounded by more moss-covered stones and frosted berries for extra embellishment!”
