Colorful & Creative Robot Birthday Party
If you’re on the lookout for robot party ideas, look no further – because Janie Wilson computed some serious creativity for her son’s 5th birthday with this super colorful Robot Birthday Party! Mom found just about every awesome robot activity in the book to kick this party into high gear – from robot themed games to crafty activities like painting robot banks and making your own Rice Krispie treat bots… then eating them of course! ;)
PARTY HIGHLIGHTS to look out for:
- Life-sized handmade robots with spring-topped heads & diagnostic button fronts
- Colorful birthday cake topped decked out with gears and the cutest little blue robot topper!
- Fabulous watermelon robot filled with grapes + adorable googly-eyed cupcakes
- White chocolate mini robots, “liquid hydrogen” water bottles & a paint your own bot activity
PARTY DETAILS as told by Janie…
I wanted to create the perfect robot party for my son Jacob, who was turning 5 this year. I wanted it to be bright, cute and fun! I also wanted all of the decor to be functional and invite the kids to play with it and for the sweets table to be delicious and amazing!! I fell in love with Mulberry Paperie’s robot design and the rest of the party planning just came easy. Bold, bright colors paired with gray chevron! I used their patterned papers and matching cardstock to create a wooden cake, a paper cake, robot name blocks, pinwheels, a picture frame and much more. I added printables to the mason jars, the utensil wraps, the cupcakes, my life size robots, the water bottles, the chocolate, everything!!
We had robot activities like Create a Rice Krispie Robot, Build a Bot, Color a Robot, Build a Robot Tower, and Paint a Robot Bank. We all had tons of fun and had great food catered from Moe’s Southwest Grill for lunch!

SO beautiful. I LOVE the watermelon robot, the build your own banks and the color palette. So many adorable details. I. am. a. ro. bot. xo
Thank you Pug! Means soo much!
I'm very proud of my daughter in law She is very talented person any many ways but when it comes to a party she goes all out as you can see. This is just a small sample what she has done for my grandson's Birthdays. I can't wait to see what she does for the next party.
Thank you Don! You know I love going all out for the boys’ parties.
Where did you have the large Jacob sign on the wall made?
The one behind the sweets table Jennifer? That is a vinyl backdrop designed by Paula at Blugrass Designs. She also designed all the printables for the party. You can find her at https://www.etsy.com/shop/BluGrass
This party is fantastic. Love all the details. I am wondering who you purchased the beautiful Robot cake from? Thank you
Hi Susy, thank you! The robot cake was from Dewey’s Bakery in Winston Salem NC.
This party looks great! I love all of these ideas! I am really inspired to use some of these ideas for my son’s 2nd birthday. Where did the cute robot candy holders come from?
Hi Jennifer, everything in this party is linked in the ‘Vendor Credits’ section
Thanks Jennifer! They are from amazon. They’re flexible silicone baking robot cups!
Sorry, I had forgotten to list them in the credits!
I held a robot party for my son’s 4th birthday a few years ago and it was so fun. We painted robot banks too and our friends still use theirs. You did a great job!
Thanks Kathleen! It really was soo much fun!!
What did you use to make the white robot chocolates? I have the exact same silicone mold. I’ve tried the candy melts, but they don’t taste good. I’m about to try melting chocolate chips.
Hi Misty! I just saw your comment! I always use the white chocolate that is for melting in the blue bag, but I cannot think of the name of it and I can’t find it online. In store, I always find it at Walmart and food lion. It is a heavy flat package and I melt one or two “bricks” at a time.
