PARTY DETAILS, as told by Margit…
This event was held in honor of a first time mum to be who recently moved back to the United States with her British husband after living in London for some time. The date of this shower was so close to the reported due date for Kate Middleton that we decided to go with a Royal baby theme, bringing in elements of their London connection. The decor included a throne for mum to sit in, replica’s of big ben and a London phone booth and lots of navy blue and pink. The dessert table featured Crowns (meringues), shortbread cookies, scones, and the mom to be’s favorite cake from Boston’s Eldo Cake House. The table also included iced tea which we served in teacups. I made christmas poppers that are commonly found in England. Each on included the requisite crown and party popper but also a joke about being pregnant which led to lots of laughs. One of the other fun elements of the table was the jewel shaped hard candies at each place setting (by Candied Cakes). I love that they added some edible sparkle to the table. All in all this shower was such a wonderful celebration full of laughs, fun and anticipation – who can wait to meet a little princess!
