PARTY DETAILS as told by Valerie

When my client approached me about helping her plan and style her daughter’s 1st birthday celebration, she was open to theme suggestions. When brainstorming themes for children’s parties, I like to first look at family nicknames and/or favorite things first. Since the Father often refers to his daughter as “My Little Princess,” it seemed only fitting that we plan a royal affair fit for his “little princess.”

Our palette of shades of pink and gold was an easy choice. A whole lot of little-girl-pink-sweetness with splashes or royal gold made for a gorgeous color combination and felt very royal!

Our dessert table was made luxurious with the help of satin fabrics and lots of gold embellishment. I enlisted the creative assistance of Beth Kruse Custom Creations to help create some perfectly sweet & royal graphics for our special celebration. The backdrop was kept relatively simple with just a framed letter “L” for the birthday girl, Laya, and was showcased under a large tiara with flowy satin curtains. Our dreamy white ruffled tablecloth provided that sweet girly foundation to our royal affair.

The desserts were something quite special. Our cake, made by the talented Piece of Cake – Custom Cakes by Mark, was nothing short of wow-worthy. The gold crown and crystal embellishments were incredible and all edible! The gorgeous royal cookies, made by the seriously talented NatSweets, were quite royal and sweet atop our gold platter and alongside our gold crown. Beautiful chocolate covered Oreos by Roni Sugar Creations were the perfect detail to surround our little wrapped lollipops. Gorgeous handmade flower embellished gold crowns by Kutiebowtuties added that extra special detail on our dessert table and were the very precious centerpiece for our marshmallow pop platters.

Since the Mother wasn’t a chocolate or cake fan, we added a super fun (and much enjoyed) caramel corn bar since that’s her favorite treat. Guests were welcomed to little embellished popcorn boxes to fill up all their favorite treats.

Beautiful flowers were such an important part of this celebration. Our royal gold princess carriages were filled with an assortment of sweet pink flowers. They were such a precious and princess-y accessory for our feature table.

Princess Laya stole the show with her sweet smile and happy nature. Her sweet pink tutu by Kutiebowtutuies and coordinating onesie by Vintage Bebe Props provided the perfect royal 1st birthday apparel. She was one sweet little thing.

This celebration was such a beautiful event that I won’t soon forget. It was certainly fit for a princess!
