Forest Whimsy Baby Shower

This chic & rustic “Forest Whimsy” Baby Shower from Tie That Binds looks like such a warm & inviting way to celebrate during the cooler fall or winter months! In fact, it’s full of great inspiration for seasonal bridal showers or holiday parties too… starting with the beautifully presented selection of hors d’oeuvres – which included sweet & savory dishes like stuffed cherry tomatoes, bacon-wrapped potatoes & skewered donut holes (YUM!).

Other favorite details: burplap-embellished vases, miniature pine trees on the buffet table, and super stylish paper details carried throughout, featuring rustic-inspired elements like vintage moose graphics and a contemporary leaf silhouette pattern. (The full paper collection is available in their shop!)

PARTY DETAILS, as told by Mekala…

Tucked into the forests of Nisswa, Minnesota, a group of 6 girls gathered from around the state to throw their friend, Kris, her very first baby shower. We were ecstatic when they asked Tie That Binds to design the paper materials and style the event! We designed everything from scratch to coordinate with the cozy lakeside cabin chosen to host the event.

Being an incredibly talented and generous group of girls, Kris’ friends arranged a hors d’oeuvre style menu and worked together to pull it off. They created dainty bite-size goodies like stuffed mushrooms and cherry tomatoes, bacon-wrapped potatoes, skewered donut holes, gourmet grilled cheese, and carefully frosted cookies – just to name a few!

Because the amazing food and serving dishes were provided by the shower hosts, we really wanted to focus on showcasing the buffet as the highlight of the party. Using strictly wooden bowls and white glass, we mainly relied on the DIY cake plates made from cocktail glasses and thrift store plates. Brilliant!

Other details used to personalize the shower included rich chocolate-brown silverware wrapped in muslin bags and tied with moose tags. We used the same moose design to add extra flair to the drinking cups, and included a full signage package for all the food and drinks. As a special touch for the mommy to be, we created bunting for baby’s room.

The games were convenient and functional. They were individually wrapped with twine and included a wooden pencil to complete the “baby quiz” and “finish mommy’s sentence” games. And don’t forget the forest favors! Wild flower seeds in our sweet mini kraft pouches, and perfectly coordinated with the invitation suite.

While it stormed and rained most of the day, the shower couldn’t have been more cozy, comfortable, cute, and delicious! We loved the opportunity to work with a previous client again, but most of all, meet her wonderful friends and family that were so full of love and enthusiasm. We’re eager to welcome William Allyn into the world and want to say thanks to Kris and her crew that included us in such a joyous event.”

What a beautiful shower and so perfect for winter! I especially love the invitations and stationery elements!

Love everything about it. The moose does not fit with the invitations (why is there a moose on the table? why are the favors wildflowers if moose is the mascot?) but who cares, it’s lodge cute!

What a beautiful shower! I’m throwing one with a similar theme for my sister-in-law, and I was wondering if you’d be willing to share your “please self-address an envelope” file.
