LIttle Outdoorsman Fishing Birthday Party

This adorable “Little Outdoorsman” birthday party by Chris from Celebrations at Home Events is such a great theme idea for any little nature lover!

Rustic elements like tree stump pedestals, twigs, moss, and pinecones set the scene for darling nature-inspired tablestops, and themed treats like gummy worms, “root” beer and s’mores are sure to be a hit with the kids! And since the party was in the morning, I love how Chris opted to serve glazed donuts in lieu of cupcakes!

PARTY DETAILS, as told by Chris

“The concept was a “birthday fishing brunch” for little boys who love the outdoors.  Decorative elements include items related to fishing, and nature hikes through the woods.

I found a beautiful park with a pond which made the perfect backdrop to this nature inspired celebration. Bird’s Party Printables were used to accent the rustic items used in the décor. Lucky for me a picnic table was already in place, so I set up the table with a moss runner, some faux ferns, and some real treasures found in the woods – deer antlers and large turkey feathers. A wood plank sits on top of a tree stump “pedestal” and holds donuts instead of cupcakes for this morning adventure.

Each place setting consisted of a melamine plate sitting on top of a basket liner (the kind that hold paper plates) that was turned upside down, a cotton napkin with fishing lures and bobbers attached with jute twine (sharp ends cut off), and a bottle of “root” beer personalized with a mini chalkboard sign. I think any nature lover would be happy here!

A side table is set up to hold more snacks as little boys appetites can be quite big! Trail mix seemed like a natural choice, as did gummy worms & fish. I also made meringue “mushrooms” to sit among the chocolate “rocks.” This is an easy treat to make with directions HERE.

A small wooden fishing boat holds flowers, sodas, and favor bags filled with the ingredients to make s’mores….the classic outdoor treat.

If you have a little boy who loves the outdoors and nature, this is a great party idea for him. Fishing was the main activity here, although a nature hunt would also be very appropriate!”

This is such a cute idea! I love the gummy fish and worms. This theme is just perfect for the guy, and also his friends that are also rugged and outdoorsy. That smores treat is terrific too :) http://www.skylarkmanor.com

I love it. I’m going to adapt this for a “big boy” party – my husband’s birthday. Instead of Root beer, real beer, but otherwise, not much needs to change.

This is a wonderful idea Chris! I absolutely love it!!!! You can also set tents up for the boys. A scavenger hunt goes well with this theme. Use tackle boxes filled with fishing related items instead of loot bags.
