{Amazing!} Rustic & Vintage County Fair First Birthday
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, step right up to see the amazing Rustic & Vintage County Fair First Birthday! Inspired by an awesome red and blue ferris wheel invitation, Mindy of Mindy Alyse Celebration Inspiration lovingly styled this super cute party for her baby boy, Grayson. This party was filled with lots of fun county fair games, activities, and the best part about the county fair in my opinion – yummy food! Clearly, the birthday boy agrees. ;)
PARTY HIGHLIGHTS to look out for:
- Vintage drinks cart filled with mason jars, lemonade for the kiddies & extra delicious lemonade for the adults
- Photo booth with a beautiful family heirloom quilt backdrop + a cute & clever “guest book puzzle”
- Red raffle ticket embellishing everything from the invites to the corn dog holders!
- County fair inspired games + adorable “mini petting zoo” and “goldfish bowl” party favors!
- Amazing “sweets hutch” filled with mini pies & churros + a special blueberry pie for the birthday boy
PARTY DETAILS as told by Mindy…
I wanted to do a vintage county fair theme for my son’s first birthday. I found an invite that I fell head over heels for and basically planned the entire event around it. Most of the elements of the party were DIY. I sewed all the bunting myself, my husband made the “petting zoo” from a wardrobe box, and the games were all DIY.
Games
A can toss made of left over formula containers covered in scrapbook paper, a bean bag toss made with baskets from the dollar store and bean bags I made with left over material, and a ducky match where children matched the colors on the bottom of rubber duckies.
Activities
A “pony ride,” on a rocking horse, a hayride in a red wagon filled with hay, a ball pit, an art station, petting zoo barn, and a “water coral.” Lastly, we had a photobooth made with PVC pipe and a family heirloom quilt.
Food
We served typical fair food — soft pretzels, corn dogs, popcorn, kettle corn, fruit, and veggies. The deserts were a favorite though. The sweets hutch included: blueberry and peach mini, pies, churros, cotton candy, and caramel apple bites. For beverages we offered lemonade, adult lemonade, Coke, Pabst Blue Ribbon, and water. Instead of cake, Grayson ate blueberry pie! He loved every bite!
Party Favors
Each child got to take a “goldfish” home with them as a prize, which was actually a plastic fish in bubble bath.

Love this idea. How did you display the puzzle after everyone left a special wish?
Love! Where did you get the food labels?
