Santa’s elves have clearly been hard at work cooking up all of these sweet “toys”! Danielle from Cutie Putti Paperie whipped up this delicious Santa’s Workshop Birthday Party for her nephew’s birthday, but it’s also great inspiration for any kid-friendly Christmas party. Peppermint candy trees, chocolate doughnut “coal”, and Holly Jolly Ranchers are just a few of the clever treats that make this North Pole inspired dessert table extra merry!

PARTY DETAILS as told by Danielle…

My Nephew’s birthday is one week before Christmas. Since he was turning 4 last year, it was the first year he was totally excited about the magical notion of Santa Claus and his toy workshop, and so a Santa’s Workshop party was born :-)

To have guests feel like they just stepped inside of Santa’s workshop, I imagined the dessert table and sweets to resemble the Jolly Ol’ Man’s work table, and filled it with vintage toy themed desserts and Mrs. Claus’ famous goodies. A welcome sign displayed on the table was designed to look like an elves’ workroom message board.

I designed a custom backdrop scene complete with a Christmas tree, shelves filled with toys ready for Christmas Eve delivery, and a porthole window that gives you a glimpse of the snowy North Pole outside and Santa off on his yearly sleigh ride.

The invite informed little helpers that, “Time is running out and Santa needs your help!” Inviting them to get on Santa’s good list by coming to the North Pole to help get his deliveries out by Christmas.

Toy-Inspired Sweets

Gingerbread Jack-in-the-boxes, the most delicious and adorable gingerbread men s’mores, jumbo marshmallow snowballs made by the talented baker at The Luscious Loaf Bakery, Yo-Yo macarons made by The Splendid Sweet Shoppe, Rubik’s cube Rice Krispy treats, White chocolate Santa’s tool box, Baby Doll Lollipops, Mrs. Claus’ sugar cookies, North Pole cupcakes, Jax bouncy ball gumballs, Holly Jolly Ranchers, Reindeer Noses malt balls, chocolate donut hole ‘coal,’ ice cold milk, and Radio Flyer Coca Cola!

Malik’s super cute birthday cake was created to look like a steaming cup of hot cocoa, baked by a local Publix supermarket.

Activities

We bought wooden toy building kits from Micheal’s and the kids, I mean, Santa’s Helpers, had SO much fun building and painting toys of their own. Each child also drew a name of another helper at the beginning of the party, and before they went home were able to wrap and present the toy they built to their secret Santa. It was the sweetest little lesson that Christmas is about giving to others.

Favors

Small boxes were wrapped in shipping paper, tied with ribbon and embellished with an ‘Elf Post’ letter sealed and stamped “Guaranteed Delivery Before Christmas.” Inside were mini versions of classic games and toys, including keychain sized versions of Battle Ship, Monopoly, Twister, Jacks etc. These were found and bought at our local 5 Below.

This party could be the perfect idea  for a child who’s birthday is close to Christmas, cookie exchange party, gingerbread decorating party, and so many other fun Holiday events.
