This Shabby Chic Easter Picnic by Melissa of Ever So Pretty Events is filled with such lovely, sweet details… I especially adore the way she dressed up the beautiful trees in the park setting with flower-filled mason jars hanging from romantic ruffled tulle!

Also loving the mini mason jar party favors filled with mint pastel nonpareils (which are already the perfect colors for Easter!), the homemade spinach tortilla quiche served individually in cute pastel ramekins, and the kid-friendly pink lemonade & maraschino cherry fusion served in adorable mini glass bottles adorned with textured ribbon!

PARTY DETAILS, as told by Melissa…

“I decided to kick off the spring season with this Easter picnic – complete with all the trimmings – as it very much part of our annual family tradition! As with most of my design inspirations, I tried to incorporate my love for vintage and rustic decor all throughout, in keeping within theme.

DESIGN & DECOR:

• We found a breezy spot and a few wooden benches we covered with linens to keep the ethereal feel and natural charm of the outdoors.
• In keeping with the soft and airy elements we ruffled up all shades of tulle to use as streaming ribbons, hanging branch to branch. These also held up the large mason jars filled with alstroemeria flowers to create a subtle romantic feel to our picnic area.
• We stacked the small bird nest plates on top of my pale yellow ones for a country cottage look. To complete the table setting, my mother sewed and embellished the linen napkins with mini egg napkin rings that I assembled.
• We filled up wooden birdhouses and tiny bird nests with jumbo size speckled egg chocolate candies…for the children, of course. *wink*

FOOD:

• Our food choices consisted of some homemade dishes, including individual size spinach tortilla, cheese tortellini bites, fresh chickpea and tabouleh salad as well as a variety of cheeses and fruits including grapes, berries and pineapple slices.
• For the adults we prepared a sparkling lemonade refreshment, and for the kids, I used mini glass bottles to serve a pink lemonade & maraschino cherry fusion.

DESSERT TABLE:

• My amazingly talented friend Priscila from P the Baker provided the deliciously flavored pineapple upside down and funfetti cake balls as well as the chocolate sprinkled marshmallows nestled in the fun colored egg cartons.
• We used mini mason jars filled with mint flavored pastel nonpareil candies , which doubled as favors for both adults and kids!
• The adorable tropical fruit tarts and merengue cookie bites were preordered from our local market and my ahhhh-mazing mom made her specialty, vanilla custard flan.

KIDDIE TREATS:

I decided to steer from the traditional baskets and went with the pails from the Dollar Tree instead. We filled them with various candy treats from bunny peeps to sweet and sour jelly beans. We also included a sugar cookie and marshmallow swirl (as if there wasn’t enough of a sugar rush, ha-ha!).

PRINTABLES:

The lovely polka dot food tags were created and assembled by my dear husband. =)

Giving reason to celebrate is a must in my book and although this is an Easter inspired theme, it can very well serve as inspiration for a dainty park date too! Hint, hint…wink, wink!“
