PARTY DETAILS as told by Jill…

To create an amazing 40th birthday celebration for Jennifer, Catherine of CBS Lifestylist wanted to incorporate both Jennifer’s playfulness and sophistication. She LOVES Italy, jewel tones, and great food.

First, they selected the location because if you want delicious food and sophistication, Oliver & Rose (an extension of Cafe Chloe) is a no-brainer. Second, Catherine recruited the teams of Alchemy Fine Events whom designed the food, invitations, and decor, and Isari Flower Studio to help design all florals.

Bold black chiavari chairs were paired with and complemented the deep teal, gold and black patterned linen. Layered gold napkins on gold chargers further added to the ultra opulent look. Custom designed Italian menus were tied in place with a lavish magenta silk ribbon topped off by a single delicate anemone. To infuse more rich hues, we clustered gold rippled mercury glass votives with shorter gold vertical striped votives and mixed in striking silver candelabras with raspberry taper candles for an old world feel. Arrangements of anemones, tulips, dianthus and dahlias spotted the table as ivy crawled in and out of the decor from one end of the table to the other for an overgrown Tuscan feel. For a finishing touch to the tablescape, a variety of stunning crystal cut decanters on vintage trays added both elegance and glamour.

As guests filtered into the room, an Italian culture experience began: wine tasting and cheese pairing greeted them. An Italian cuisine and Italian pignoli cookies were a delicious and decadent second and third course. The birthday girl was celebrated by the men in the room with waving sparklers as she danced to her favorite song. Dozens of candles were twinkling to sing her Happy Birthday where later guests were treated to the gorgeous ruffled two-toned raspberry-hued cake.

Guests ended the evening with their dance shoes on, as the DJ spun Jennifer’s favorite tunes.
