Baking on your birthday!? It’s what you do when you’re Julie of Blue Cupcake and your (own!) birthday party needs a cake and tasty macaron bar! Her Sparkly, Silver & Fabulous 40th Birthday Soirée was designed by Lucinda Gould of The COOP with simple, elegant and of course glittery details. Bebe Jacobs captured all the shimmer and shine that is actually timely inspiration for a glam holiday or New Years party…. I know, I can’t believe that holidays are around the corner already either!

PARTY HIGHLIGHTS to look out for:

• Silver glitter dipped candle votives, mini potted succulents and cups with disco ball swizzle sticks
• Three tier cake with a sparkly silver base, matching “40” topper & a simple succulent detail
• “40 & Fabulous” letter balloons, silver sequin linens and silver party streamers
• Macaron bar with pistachio, hazelnut and more delicious flavors displayed in white milk glass dishes
• Sophisticated white floral arrangements with succulent accents in festive silver vases

How gorgeous is our 40th birthday girl Julie Desmeules?! Julie is the amazing talent behind Blue Cupcakes and she is the one we turn to at the COOP when we know we need spectacular deserts to enhance our events. For her 40th Julie requested a SILVER soirée inspired by an event she had seen earlier in the month at the COOP – so silver it was!
The silver Mylar balloon wall set the scene with white rose petals as our table runner and gorgeous white flowers that we arranged with the added element of cactus. Julie created the beautiful cake and macaroons (we had her baking on her birthday!) and she also added the cactus to the cake so it all complimented each other perfectly!

For the bar area we spelled out CHEERS with balloons on a silver paper backdrop and also handmade disco ball headbands for all the lovely guests! We used disco balls on our stirrers and even glittered our candle votives with a touch of silver glitter.

Outside on the patio table we kept it simple with sequin tablecloth and silver fans with 40 and fabulous spelled out with balloons. We used clear plexi boxes to display everything and help the silver really pop.

It was a such a beautiful party filled with love, laughter and of course SILVER!
