halloween black and white centerpiece ideas

As someone that adores circus and carnival inspired parties, I was totally drawn to the cool top-hat-wearing skeleton character featured in the centerpiece above. He reminded me of an eerie version of the ringmaster at an old fashioned carnival, and decided to use him as the inspiration for my third HomeGoods Halloween look.

SPOOKY SIDESHOW HALLOWEEN

I’ve always wanted to do a “Spooky Carnival” inspired Halloween party that leaned way more “spooky sideshow” than horror-esque, so it was fun to play around with that theme a little and bring parts of it to life with this tablescape and hutch display mockup! The red, black and white palette also lends a playful 40s/flapper vibe that’s a fun change from the traditional Halloween looks. :)

Theme Highlights to look out for:

  • “Sideshow” table centerpiece featuring a trio of festive Halloween characters dressed up with bow ties
  • bold patterned sheet used as tablecloth + matching pillowcase used as “backdrop” in hutch
  • felt bow ties on red soda bottles + napkins folded into bow ties at every other place setting
  • Alternating napkins embellished with “squishy skeletons” + red ribbon
  • giant ring of vintage skeleton keys (LOVE these!)
