Spring Butterfly 70th Birthday Party {Blue & Purple}
With spring in full bloom and the weather heating up, I’m loving the look of bringing the outdoors in… and Alexandria of FunkyMonkeyDesigns did just that for her grandmother’s charming surprise Spring Butterfly 70th Birthday Party! With a beautiful palette of blue and purple, bright hydrangeas and lots of sparkly butterflies flitting around, this thoughtful party is the perfect way to enjoy spring all year long! :)
PARTY HIGHLIGHTS to look out for:
- Graham cracker topped blueberry cheesecake shooters + purple frosted vanilla cupcakes
- Simple white swirl birthday cake with mini Happy Birthday banner + lacy blue dessert table backdrop
- Hanging blue & purple lanterns + rhinestone bedecked butterfly paperie
- Mason jar drinks garnished with butterfly flag straws + tea light filled mason jar table runner
PARTY DETAILS as told by Alexandria…
My family and I decided to throw a surprise 70th birthday for my grandmother. We invited around 30 close friends and family. My grandmother’s favorite color is blue so naturally, I chose blue and decided to incorporate a little bit of purple. It was almost Spring here so I decided to use flowers and the cute rhinestone butterflies that I found at Michaels. Mason jars are adorable so I decided to fill them with lemonade and add a paper straw and party flag. Details are everything and I couldn’t help adding rhinestones to everything! My grandmother was so surprised and she couldn’t stop smiling!

So pretty! Love the color palette :)
Brings back beautiful memories of my precious grandmother who grew spectacular hydrangeas. Simply lovely.
Thank you for sharing. We love those colour combinations and they may not come first in mind for everyone, however works perfectly. And fantastic little details too. We thought it also might be a good idea to fold butterfly shaped blue napkin and set it on a plate. What do you think?
